Happy Friday!! I hope you’ve had a great week! Ours was the usual…work, school, laundry, talent show practice, running late for most everything, crap-whats-for-dinner…you know the drill! Mr. SP and I are taking a little break from the routine, and sneaking away early tomorrow for the long weekend. It’s been in the 70s here all week, and the forecast where we’re going is single digits!!! Looks like I won’t be packing light! Can you guess where? I’m sure I’ll post some snaps on Instagram, so follow me there if you want.
For today’s dose of Friday Fashion, I’m sharing another basic outfit styled three ways. This time of year, it’s hard to deny the ease of a sweater and jeans, and many times, I’m reaching for the same exact sweater and jeans! But with a few layer and accessory swaps, no one is the wiser!
This post could also fall under the Rule of Three, since in each outfit, I’ve layered on two, three, and even four items, not only to make it more stylish, but to create different looks. Let’s start with the base outfit…jeans and a sweater. Totally cute on it’s own, but we don’t leave things alone around here!
The first look is straight from my ‘Transition to Fall’ formula…add a scarf and boots, with a shot of fun jewelry.
Fit Tip: This is a lovely sweater, with just enough cashmere to make it feel luxury, but not so much that it’s pricey. In fact, it’s on sale for under $50, and available in tons of colors! I love the v-neck version, too. I sized up for a more relaxed fit and room to layer, but my usual size fit perfectly, as well.
For a second look, I double-layered with a gingham shirt and quilted vest. Just imagine the possibilities with a solid sweater like this…chambray shirt and plaid vest, white shirt and utility vest, and if you’re daring, try a plaid shirt and striped vest! (The idea of that one just gave me a giddy shiver!)
Pairing similar hues really allows the striped bag to shine, and of course a little leopard…because I think every outfit is cuter with a shot of leopard.
Fit Tip: These jeans are so soft and comfy, they feel almost like leggings…except you don’t have to cover your lady bits. The higher waist means no accidental crack-shots either! #grownuppants

Style Tip: My bag is the Savannah Tote, and it’s chock-full of pockets with a zipper close. You can customize your pattern, color and monogram style…and they have the cutest Spring collection of new patterns to choose from!

Style Tip: When layering, make sure each piece is peeking out somewhere. Except if one of your layers is thermal underwear…we don’t need to see that. Well, unless it’s cute thermals!
What’s your favorite way to style jeans and a sweater? I hope this post inspired some new combinations for the standby outfit. Oh, and remember the fun pom-pom clutch from this week’s {Date Night Style} post? Many of you missed out on getting it, so they’ve extended the code! Use code HSPCLUTCH for 20% off one of my favorite accessories. Happy Valentines weekend, lovebugs!
P.S. Thank you so so much for all the love on our Craft Closet makeover! And to answer many of you….yes, I do sit and drool stare at it. All. The. Time!!! š
