Happy Friday, friends, and welcome to the weekend! We’re all a little bummed it’s the final weekend of summer break for Sloan, we move her in to her dorm next week, and sorority rush starts the very next day!
It’s going to be a busy weekend of last-minute prepping and packing, and then Monday we load the cars for the drive north. I’m excited to finally see her room come together, and dreading the hug good-bye. Ugh, I can’t even think about it… let’s talk about something more fun!
This weekend also marks the final few days of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! After Sunday, the prices will return to full price, so if you’ve had your eye on something, now is your last chance to grab it up to 40% off.
I use it mostly as the chance to stock up on my go-to products, and replace my tired closet staples. Today I’m sharing the pieces I actually shopped and took home with me!
My NSale Fashion Buys //
This floral skirt is gauzy and light, with an elastic waist… the colors are perfect for wearing now and transitioning to fall. I’m wearing it with a tank and sandals now, then plan to pair it with first a denim jacket, and then this crewneck and booties, later in the season. I love skirts as an alternative to jeans when the weather cools!
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size XS skirt and tank.

This sweater vest is a soft cotton cable knit, so cute with denim or skirts.
I did an actual happy dance when I pulled these jeans on… and considering it’s almost 100 degrees right now, that’s saying a lot! They are buttery soft and lightweight, with a full leg and flattering front pockets. They feel and fit a bit like a denim trouser, making them perfect for a more elevated, yet casual style. A Top Five find for me! The Mary Janes are darling and comfy, and red is going to be a hot hue this season!
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size XS sweater and size 2 jeans.
Cable Knit Sweater | Kut Patch Pocket Jeans | Mary Jane Ballet Flats | Huggie Earrings
These will be the jeans I reach for every day. They’re super soft and stretchy, with a raw hem and touch of flare at the ankle, making them perfect with sneakers, flats, and booties. They have a comfortable, high-waist fit, with no gaping at the back.
I steered clear of the most of the sweaters this year (it’s just so hot!), but this cozy cashmere for under $100 is always a must-buy for me! Super soft and in classic crewneck style, it’s always in style. I wear them over my shoulders with sundresses now, and with denim and trousers in the fall. I always grab a new one while they’re on sale, and they make great gifts, too!
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size Small sweater and size 27 jeans.

My other favorite denim included in this year’s NSale are all from Kut From the Kloth, and one great Pistola style… and all are under $100!

If it’s Zella and in the NSale, chances are it’s goooood! Especially this quilted vest, which was an immediate Top Five fave! It’s super soft and lightweight (not bulky at all), in the softest nylon material. Of course I was smitten with the pink. The leggings are buttery soft, have great compression, and are the perfect cropped length with a high waist.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size Small in the vest, tank, and leggings.

Of course I went straight for this dress… when do you get the chance to grab Farm Rio on sale?! It’s soft and lightweight cotton, in the prettiest bold print. It comes with a belt with beaded detail, and will look cute now with sandals and later with booties.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size XS dress. It is a little short, so tall girls check the measurements.

I was surprised by how much I loved this 3-piece set, and have already been wearing it non-stop around the house! It’s crazy soft and stretchy, with an easy wide leg and sassy cropped tank. The cardigan is great when I need to answer the door, ha!

3-Piece Lounge Set | Huggie Earrings
I discovered these undies in last year’s NSale and became truly obsessed, and used the discount to stock up this year! They are truly seamless, making them perfect under everything from leggings and joggers to jeans and pants. Not to mention, unbelievably comfortable! (Just check out those reviews!)
And of course I had to grab a few pair of Bombas… when it comes to athletic socks, nothing compares for me!

My NSale Shoe Buys //
Nordstrom really knocked it out of the park in the shoe department this year! I did my most damage there, with these four styles coming home with me!
Fit Tip: I found them all true-to-size except the Adidas… I sized down a full size in those!

Besides shoes, beauty was my other favorite category in this year’s NSale. I stocked up on several favorites I use and reach for daily, and was especially excited to see the Olaplex No. 4 Shampoo included… the jumbo bottle lasts forever!

The Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Lotion is my go-to body lotion (it goes on so smoothly, absorbs quickly, and leaves my skin with a subtle glow I love!), and this jumbo size lasts me over half a year.
The Nécessaire Body Wash is my fave for relaxing baths… the scent and bubbles are so luxurious! The duo also makes a great gift.

The Ghd Curling Iron has been my fave for several years, but now that my hair is longer, I was ready for a larger barrel. Thankfully it’s included in this year’s NSale, so I was able to grab it for less!

No surprise here, but I grabbed two more of my favorite throws for the lake house! They are insanely soft, with the cutest tassel trim. It comes in a ton of colors, launders well, and is a great price during the NSale. They make perfect gifts, too!
NSale Splurge //
If you’re looking for an incredible splurge, I highly recommend the Barefoot Dream Lounge Set! It’s truly like being wrapped in a heavenly hug. I bought it last year, and it was one of my favorites all winter. I gifted it to Mama Sugarplum for Christmas, too, and thrilled was an understatement!
It didn’t come home with me (yet), but I’m still thinking about this cashmere poncho. It’s so luxe and cozy… would be great for travel or a gift. I also adore this cashmere scarf, and have worn mine on repeat for years.

Would love a post of what Sloan is wearing for Rush. You and I had boys leaving for college at the same time and now girls leaving for college at the same time. It’s hard!!! Going through all the same feels right now. But would love some Rush dress advice!!
Hi Jen!! All the feels these days, right?! Sloan’s school actually issues t-shirts for them to wear each day, so she just had to get bottoms. She chose all skort styles so she was covered for sitting. We found some at Amazon, Nordstrom, and Alterd State. She just has one round where she’ll wear a dress, and she chose a colorful short dress, along the style of what she’d wear to a grad party. More than anything, I want her to wear what she’s comfortable in, bc that’s what will help her relax and be herself. Sending you lots of love, mama!! xoxo. C
I ordered lots in different styles and sizes and wound up with one pair of slip-on sneaker replacements, loafers (both shoes have elevated heels due to pesky bone spurs) and wide leg pants in beige.
I’m wait listed for a red pea coat I keep hoping will show up in my size. Fingers crossed.
