Dressing Room Diaries | NSale Edition!

Happy Monday, friends, and welcome back to a new week! The highlight of my weekend was an afternoon of lunch and shopping with Mama Sugarplum. Of course we stopped by the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and of course she bee-lined straight for these pajamas! They’re her first pick every single year! See how darling she looks HERE.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to everyone TODAY, so hopefully my posts have helped you navigate what your closet needs most! This is my very favorite sale of the year, and I use it to refresh old items, stock up on go-tos, and even grab some holiday gifts.

Today I’ve got a big Dressing Room Diaries for you, chock-full of my top picks from the Sale, many of which came home with me! I also shared a full video try-on you can see HERE.

Sugarplum Shopping Tip: Things have been selling fast, but if something you love is sold out, keep an eye on it for returns/restocks! They’re likely to hit right before the sale ends in a couple of weeks.

Fit Note: I’m 5’4″-ish, 125 pounds-ish, with a slight pear shape. My usual size is XS/2.

Denim //

Let’s start with denim… it’s always one of my favorites, and usually yours, too! And fortunately, I found some really amazing styles that fit great, are super flattering, and on trend. Let’s start with the splurge styles… my beloved Mother Denim! They rarely go on sale, so I was so excited they’re included this year!

Mother High Waist Flared Jeans | Mother Raw Hem Flared Jeans | Mother Flared Ankle Crop Jeans

Let’s start with the ankle flare crop… these will be the jeans I reach for every day. Super soft and stretchy, with a raw hem and touch of flare at the ankle, making them perfect with sneakers, flats, and booties. They have a comfortable, high-waist fit, with no gaping at the back.

Another incredible pair, these are just as soft and stretchy, but with a fun flared hem. It’s a raw hem, so easily cut for the length you want, but I’ll probably keep them long to pair with wedges and booties for nights out.

This style is perfection for you lucky ducks who are tall or long-legged! A flattering rise, in a soft, stretchy denim, with a dark wash and fun full flare. Perfect for dressing up with fun tops or blazers.

My other favorite denim included in this year’s NSale are all from Kut From the Kloth, and one great Pistola style… and all are under $100!

I did an actual happy dance when I pulled these jeans on… and considering it’s almost 100 degrees right now, that’s saying a lot! They are buttery soft and lightweight, with a full leg and flattering front pockets. They feel and fit a bit like a denim trouser, making them perfect for a more elevated, yet casual style. A Top Five find for me!

V-Neck Tee | Kut Patch Pocket Jeans | Loafer Mules | Hoop Earrings | Watch

One of my go-to styles, these jeans feel like you’ve owned them for years, and fit like a glove! Made of a soft and stretchy denim, they have a great lighter wash for year-round wear, with no distressing. And did I mention under $75?!

The best-selling ‘Mom Jeans’ are back, and in a great light wash with just a touch of distressing! They fit similar to the previous style, with a touch more room through the thigh and bum.

Wide leg denim will be everywhere this Fall, and these are an easy choice! Super soft, in a great dark wash and raw hem, they feel a bit like a denim trouser. They are a bit cropped, so taller girls will get more of an ankle fit.

Pistola denim was one of my favorite finds in last year’s NSale, so I was thrilled to see it back this year. This straight-leg style is similar to some of the Kut styles, but these are made of a more traditional, sturdy denim. They have a touch of stretch, but also have structure for a more ‘tucked in’ feeling.

Activewear //

If it’s Zella and in the NSale, chances are it’s goooood! Especially this quilted vest, which was an immediate Top Five fave! It’s super soft and lightweight (not bulky at all), in the softest nylon material. Of course I was smitten with the pink. The leggings have a peachy-texture, and are a little thicker for cooler days.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size Small in the vest, tank, and leggings.

I was so smitten with the vest, I grabbed it in this bone color, too! The pants are a fun, new (to me!) find, and have a smooth, soft finish. They’re somehow both super comfy for being active, while looking polished.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size Small vest and pants and a size XS in the tee.

Long tees are a must for legging season, this lightweight tee is perfect! It’s soft and the perfect weight for layering, too.

I’m telling you… I was crazy for all the Zella activewear! This crewneck is luxuriously soft, and comes in some great colors.

Lounge & Pajama //

This Barefoot Dream Lounge Set feels like the softest, most comforting hug! I also grabbed these cozy socks, and this cozy $30 throw.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size Small set, but it runs a little big.

It also comes in a shorts version, and in both crewneck and v-neck. It’s hard to describe the magic that is Barefoot Dreams… you just have to feel it for yourself!

And of course Mama Sugarplum’s favorite find of the NSale… the Moonlight Pajamas! She grabs a new pair every year, and says they wash and dry like a dream! Some she’s owned for six years! They come in several styles, including long pants, cropped with short sleeves, and even a shorts set.

Fit Tip: We sized up to a Small, they seem to run a little smaller this year.

Sweaters & Shirts //

I steered clear of the most of the sweaters this year (it’s just so hot!), but this cozy cashmere for under $100 is always a must-buy for me! Super soft and in classic crewneck style, it’s always in style. I wear them over my shoulders with sundresses now, and with denim and trousers in the Fall. I always grab a new one while they’re on sale, and they make great gifts, too!

I couldn’t resist the pink and stripes of this rollneck, and the cotton makes it a great sweater for late summer… giving it a longer season for wear.

Dresses //

Of course I went straight for this dress… when do you get the chance to grab Farm Rio on sale?! It’s soft and lightweight cotton, in the prettiest bold print. It comes with a belt with beaded detail, and will look cute now with sandals and later with booties.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size XS dress. It is a little short, so tall girls check the measurements.

Eliza J always makes a lovely dress, and this flutter sleeve woven dress is a great find. I love the shades of blue floral, and it’s easily dressed up with heels or wedges.

Weddings or special occasions this season? This woven maxi is a gorgeous option and a great price! Fully lined, it has a full skirt and deep v-neck… and hello, pockets!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size XS, but need to size up to a Small for more room through the ribs..

I love the flutter straps and flared hem of this dress! It’s got a lot of stretch, with a fun shape.

Fit Tip: I needed to size up to a Small for more room through the hips, but it’s a little big in the chest.

This silky-soft dress has a beautiful print and flutter sleeves that fully cover the upper arms. It’s bra-friendly with a touch of stretch through the middle for a comfy fit.

Accessories //

The jewelry selection was fairly limited this year (at my store anyway), but these styles stood out as immediate YES! In fact, I grabbed these huggie earrings and have worn them every day since!

I love the shape of this bag, and the strap design is genius for wearing long as a crossbody or short under the arm! It’s also under $75!

You know I love my Calpak, but my girlfriend swears by this Beis! Every member of her family travels with one! It does have sturdy wheels and a great protective shell. I also love the padded handle!

I tried every hat in the store, and this was the hands-down winner! I love the structured brim, and it’s a great size for not overwhelming my face. This cashmere poncho is so luxe and cozy… would be great for travel or a gift. I also adore this cashmere scarf, and have worn mine on repeat for years.

Shoes //

I did my most damage in the shoe department, with these four styles coming home with me!

I also had a field day in the Beauty department, with deals on so many of my go-to products! I also grabbed the new T3 Blow Dry Brush, and after only a few uses, I’m hooked! It’s so easy to use, and leaves my hair so silky and smooth!
