{Guest Post} Emily at A Well Dressed Home

Happy Monday, loves! It certainly has a whole new feel to it this week…since I’m now dressed in heels, sitting behind a desk, as opposed to styling Barbie’s hair in my jammies! I had the best two weeks at home with my kids, as life virtually stood still. I’m hoping to bring some of that peace into our ‘Real World.’ Any tips on how to make that happen?!?

As I mentioned before, I had an overwhelming response from bloggers agreeing to participate in the Best of the Best Series. I’m so thankful to all of them for sharing, and even more so now that I’m trying to play catch-up at work! We have five bloggers left (none of whom you’ll want to miss!), but I’ll space them out over the next two weeks since I’m anxious to show you the progress I made on Babygirl’s Room!

You are in for a real treat today! Emily from A Well Dressed Home is a seriously talented designer, not to mention, has a great knack for finding ‘Frugal’ versions of popular designs. I was lucky enough to meet her at the Dallas Blogger Social, and we totally hit it off. Certainly doesn’t suck having a savvy designer as your friend! So settle in and prepare yourself to drool over her work.

Hello everyone! My name is Emily Hewett, and I am the author of A Well Dressed Home. I was thrilled when Cassie asked me to participate in her guest post series! Hi Sugarplum! is one of my daily reads and I am honored to be a part of it today!

I started my blog, as well as my design business, just a few short months ago…..I would have to say that one of my very first blog posts, “Making His House Our Home,” was definitely one of my favorites. It tells the story of how my husband and I started dating shortly after he asked me to design his bachelor pad. Four years later, we got married and that bachelor pad became our home. The house has once again become my project, so the post walks you through my adventure of making his house our home! Here is a sneak peek of the transformation…

And After!

Another one of my favorite posts was “Our Kitchen Remodel is Complete!” I guess you could say it was kind of a continuation of “Making His House Our Home,” as it documents the total transformation of our kitchen. I was absolutely astounded at the amount of feedback that I received on this post! I had readers from all over the World commenting and sending me emails! It was amazing!! Here is a sneak peek of our kitchen remodel…

Thanks again,Cassie, for including me in your guest post series!

Thanks so much Emily! I am crazy about how she stacked the two starburst mirrors in her living room, and the entire kitchen is delicious (I guess she didn’t want to make the popcorn bucket part of the final design?!)! You’ll want to catch up on her blog…she’s in the process of designing a pink office! {I die!}

  2. Thank you so much for featuring Emily! I was one her blog a few months ago, thought I was following, wasn't, and have been trying to find it since.

    The first day after vacation is always the hardest. Drink lots of coffee, and eat lots of chocolate. That's my solution to everything.
