By luck of the internet, some posts and projects take on a life of their own, and spread like wildfire. Our Living Room makeover, for example, is still one of my most popular posts and source of frequent questions.
There’s no question the room is full of bold design choices (thanks to the talents of Kristin Jackson), and I still love every inch of it…and actually start most days sitting on this blue sofa!
The same blue sofa, which along with the rug, is one of the most-asked questions I get about our decor! Many of the pieces belonged to my grandparents, and others are no longer available, but I recently found an unexpected source for amazing home decor…Macy’s!
Yep, that’s right…the same place I turn for all my serving ware, along with the breezy swim coverup and colorful beach bag I took to Mexico last week…carries amazing furniture and home decor, and at amazing prices! In fact, they have our exact rug (at half the price!), along with almost identical lighting, coffee table, and much of the decor.
Similar Lamps | Similar Coffee Table | Similar Drapes
Large Mirror | Scones | Similar Bench | Rug
Faux Snake Plant | Rug | Leopard Pumps
I had so much fun falling down the Macy’s furniture rabbit hole, I created a full Get the Look of our Living Room! Many of the pieces are on super sale (like the oversized round mirror), and code BIG gets you an additional 20% off many other already-reduced items!
one. Oversized Mirror  //  two. Sconce  //  three. Faux Snake Plant  //  four. Blue & White Jar
five. Pendant Chandelier  //  six. Bench  //  seven. Agate Art
eight. White Lamps  //  nine. Yellow Drapes  //  ten. Blue Velvet Sofa
eleven. Spotted Pillows  //  twelve. Brass Coffee Table  //  thirteen. Faux Flowers
fourteen. Drum Side Table  //  fifteen. Rug
I’m crazy about the bench, and think the sconces might be perfect for our Guest Room bathroom! Are you decorating or refreshing any spaces in your home right now? Definitely check Macy’s huge selection of furniture and home decor…especially with the big Sale going on now thru February 24th.
And if you’re not decorating, I can’t say enough about their Cellar Servingware! The prices are unbelievable for the quality, and the classic white goes with any occasion.

This is seriously the most beautiful and colorful living room i’ve ever seen and I really really mean that!
Thank you so so much! xo
Your living room reflects your love of bold colors and is perfect for a blonde like you. I gasped when I first saw it in the One Room Challenge years ago. Kristen really got your vibe. I wish I were that bold!
I adore the colors in your living room. This beautiful space is as unique as you are. Color adds love to every room. I have an emerald temple green room where I start my mornings. It’s what is now called color therapy! Thank you for inspiring us to add textures and vivid bright accents to our homes.
Hello,
Was looking for some ideas to decorate living room and i found yours, its really beautiful, thank you for sharing your thought, Really appreciate.
I am interested in the art piece that is in the center of the shelves. Also the art face that is hanging above the buffet from Macy’s. Can you please share where you found these two?
Hi Sloane! (great name…my daughter shares it!) The lady art in our dining room is Juniper Briggs, and the abstract graphic in the Living Room is Dara Burriss.
LOOVE the rug! Would love to buy for my daughter’s room but the colors aren’t looking nearly as bright on the website, did you use a filter at all, or do you think it comes much brighter in person than online, Thanks so much!
The web photos are definitely a lot duller than real life!!! Depending on your monitor..mine might have a touch added saturation, but it’s def more vibrant than their photos!
Hello! Could you share what color and brand of paint you’ve used? Thank you. 🙂
The bookcases are Farrow and Ball ‘Hague blue’ in super high gloss, and the walls and ceiling are SW Alabaster White.
You recently shared the website for the artwork on your stories last week (sept 2020) and I didn’t screen shot it, was wondering if you could share again? Thanks!
Hi Heidi!! Yes, it’s Canvas Kick!
I found the original link to the fushia/white plaid pillows but it didn’t work. Do you happen to know where you got them or still have a brand sticker that I can try searching that way? I’m taking huge inspiration for my office space from this living room and it’s almost done!
Hi Kelly! Do you mean the purple ones? Here’s the link to the original room reveal with all links: https://hisugarplum.com/one-room-challenge-source-list-breakdown/
