Dressing Room Diaries | Black Friday Edition

Cheers to Black Friday, friends! Or rather, Black Friday Eve! The overwhelming consensus was to share this post early, so I hope your bellies are full of pie, and your hearts full of love after a day spent with family. We had a fun, busy day, and now I’m ready for a little quiet time… and of course, tackling my gift list!

There are so many amazing sales, it’s hard to know where to start. But stay calm and take deep breaths, you don’t want your clicking-finger to lock up on you… I’ll be your tour guide. Instead of overwhelming you with every last retailer, I’m just sharing the ones I’ll be shopping, along with favorite finds from each.

If you’re new around here, Dressing Room Diaries is where I hunt down some of the cutest new arrivals from my favorite retailers, and review them for you. The shots aren’t good, the lighting is bad (especially now with the time change!), my hair is usually past its expiration… but it’s real life, real girl, real clothes… and hopefully helpful for you to see them this way, instead of perfectly styled on a model.

Fit Note: I’m 5’4″-ish, 120 pounds-ish (depending on the week’s pie count), with a slight pear shape. My usual size is an XS/0. Mama Sugarplum is 5’1″, with an hourglass figure. She’s a small/2p.

Okay, I found a slew of fun new things, starting with this adorable colorblock sweater. It’s super-soft with a loose neck, and easily pairs with denim or trousers.

This is actually the outfit I wore to the mall, but I don’t know if I’ve ever shared this sweater!! It’s crazy soft, with a fuzzy (non-shedding) texture. I love the range of colors, loose neck, and longer length. It also has fun exposed hem along the side.

I’m always a sucker for fair-isle, and these had me swooning. They’re a cotton-blend, so perfect for those of you with wool sensitivities. Plus, the colors and pattern are just too cute. I think the gray one will be my Christmas day pick!

You’ve seen this tunic sweater already, I’ve worn the black one an obsessive number of times already this season! It’s lightweight and soft, with a relaxed cowl neck and great longer length. Perfect for leggings or jeans, I wear it both out and half-tucked.

These leggings are a thick ponte knit with wide elastic panels for both a comfy fit and tummy control.

How fun is this ‘Coffee & Cardio’ crewneck sweatshirt? It’s a thick, traditional sweatshirt material, lined in the softest fleece. Wear it with leggings and jeans, or these fun camo pants! I love the exposed buttons and the print is spot-on.

Fit Tip: I sized up in the sweatshirt to a small. The pants are true, but very little stretch! I’m wearing a 2

Mom loves the sweatshirt for her morning walks, or with jeans and her fave wedge sneakers.

Okay, those of you who’ve been around for awhile likely remember the Bobeau one-button cardi… we lovingly named it ‘the kitten cardi’ because it felt like hugs from baby kittens. Well, it’s back, but now in a thick and fluffy sherpa-style material!! Seriously the softest thing, and still at an incredible price! You can def wear it out with sneakers, but I’d consider it more of a loungewear piece at home.

For my office girls, Mom put together this darling combo!! The sweater has a touch of shine for a festive feel, and the plaid blazer has great structure and flattering fit. She paired it with our favorite trousers for a comfy and chic outfit.

How fun is this polka dot coat for an unexpected statement and pattern to your Winter outfits? The dots are actually raised and the fit is so flattering and feminine. A great coat for dressier styles or workwear, too.

Old Navy continues to slay the fall and winter styles… starting with this darling puffer! It’s such a cute and sporty shape, and not overly bulky. It’s not a serious winter coat for those of you up north, but definitely does the trick for those of us who don’t need anything too serious.

I adore this black and white fair isle in the fun winter print… so cute layered under a puffer vest, too! This one is fleece-lined and a great warm layer.

Okay, one more… but this sherpa material is so silky soft!! I love the buttons and hoodie on this one. And note the boots… legit warm and comfy at an unbelievable price!!

One of my favorite sales every year, half my wardrobe is J.Crew or J.Crew Factory! I love this soft, brushed plaid in a classic tartan. The ruffled neck makes it easy to dress up, and it’s darling with skirts and trousers, or more casual with puffers. Their quilted vests come in the best colors, and are more chic than sporty.

Classic fair isle, this time in shades of camel and blue, perfect for all Winter long. You can’t see in the photo, but some of the white dots actually have little crystals for an added touch! It’s super cute with white jeans, too!
