Top Ten | December & January

Am I the only one who thinks January drug on forever, but now February is flying?! Seriously, what felt like a slow start to the new year, is now in hyper-drive.

Some weeks days it seems I’m doing nothing but chasing a To Do List, or playing catch-up, so it’s nice to take a moment each month and look back at the projects and content I managed to create. I never got around to recapping December, so here’s what’s been going on around here for the past two months.

It may be 80-degrees here today, but there’s no doubt Mother Nature will throw us another curveball and we’ll be right back to Winter. In case you’re low on inspiration, here’s 25 Winter Outfit Ideas to get you through the rest of the season!

This Date Night Style {Holiday Edition} is probably one of the most fun shoots I’ve done with Mr. SP, in one of my favorite dresses to date.

Our house was all decked out for the Christmas holiday. Not a lot you can do with that now, unless you’re looking to get a jump on next year. 😉

One of the coolest places we’ve ever stayed, The Inn at Newport Ranch, is still new and feels very much undiscovered, but I guarantee that will change! It’s already on virtually every hot list from Travel + Leisure to Conde Nast, so I’d add it to your short list.

We finished off the year by looking back at the Best of Style, Travel, Tips & Tricks, and Decor, along with my favorite personal highlights.

As it turns out, gray booties are even more versatile than black…and I’m so smitten with this pair I styled them 2 Ways.

It’s been two years since our Bedroom One Room Challenge, so it was time for a little refresh. These pink chairs were just what the space needed!

We tackled our Master Closet for the first big makeover of the year, and it’s a doozy! I’ve shared the Befores, Design Plan, and amazing Progress, and can’t wait for the big reveal next week!

This simple Coffee Cake is sure to perk up your weekend mornings!

One of the world’s biggest mysteries, solved…how to tie a blanket scarf!

Y’all have made it pretty clear that Dressing Room Diaries, especially those featuring my darling Mama Sugarplum, are your favorites…so we’re going to increase their frequency a bit, hopefully sharing new finds every two to three weeks.

I’m not big on resolutions, because of that whole resolute part. But there was a word playing over and over in my head, so I’ve decided to focus on that one thing this year. I loved hearing your One Word, too!

This hearty Tuscan Vegetable Soup is not only delicious, but incredibly healthy! In fact, it’s part of Mama Sugarplum’s weight loss plan (which I shared a bit more about, too).

We’ve had several rounds of Sugarplum Style, a smattering of my everyday outfits, created by mixing and matching my closet. I also threw in a couple of quick Faves Under $50 and Ramblings, featuring fun new things I’ve got my eye on.

(Sidenote: I also updated my Sugarplum Picks to reflect what I’m loving and wearing these days. You can check it out anytime using the shopping bag graphic in the sidebar.)

And finally, the most exciting thing for me was the launch of my brand new site! Hi Sugarplum was long-overdue in updating and organizing almost seven years of content, not to mention, making it mobile-friendly! I hope you’re able to navigate around easier and find inspiration when you want it!

February is sure to be another fun one, with a closet reveal, more style inspiration, and a quick girl’s trip. Thank you so much for stopping by when you do…your support and comments mean the world to me! Happy almost-weekend, lovebugs!

If you’re new around here, or just playing catch-up,

Fun! I love those gray booties too – so cute! That photo of you and your husband in front of the ‘I love tacos’ spray paint is adorable. 🙂

Yep…some commentators are just bizarre. They say some things that are way over the top. We are all in this together, and I do get a strange mocking feeling from them. Do you feel
it as well? Either way, I love how you blog. I love how you wore blue and white stripes in France. You know I lived there for 4.5 years and NEVER saw it?! They told me it is très américain! I guess you went to St. Rémy because it is SO touristy! Oh well…you wore it well!

Why would you take down comments showing that your closest reveal is already on The Container Store website? I didn’t expect that from you, Cassie. Sorry you have lost a loyal follower, and, more importantly, a defender. I don’t get it, but I guess you are like the rest.
