Happy Friday, friends, and cheers to the long weekend! I slipped off for a little end-of-summer girls trip earlier this week… you can see where we landed HERE. My friend, Emily, was invited by the owner of The Salt House, and I was pinching myself waking to those views each morning!

Last Family Dinner //
If given free rein, Sloan always chooses Carbone for special occasions, so we celebrated Summer and her return to school with a last dinner the night before she left. It was as bittersweet as it was delicious! If you go in Dallas, definitely request the ‘dark’ room, and a circle booth if your group fits.

Sophomore Sloan //
I remember dreading her first college drop-off for so long, and now here we are in her second year! She’s living in the sorority house this year, and already loving it, especially growing new and deeper friendships. Crazy to think these are girls she’ll likely know a lifetime!
Dropping her off the first year was a 10/10 on the ‘sucks’ scale… but the second year was only about 3/10. It’s less about worrying about her now (she’s proven she’s more than capable of taking care of herself), and mostly just missing her. After all, she’s one of my favorite people on this planet!

She has a much smaller (shared) space to work with this year, but her room turned out so cute! It’s exactly how she wanted it, and I found most everything from Walmart and Target (so it’s a win for me, too!).

Made of the softest jersey knit, it’s bra-friendly and comes in two inseam lengths. The darker colors are best for travel (the lighter colors look a little too much like lounge sets)… but you’ll never want to take it off!

Sugarplum Book Club //
Taylor Jenkins Reid has done it again with Atmosphere! She always manages to write a book about something so out of my orbit, but somehow makes me beyond invested!! I’ve never played a game of tennis, but devoured Carrie Soto is Back… and the same is true for Atmosphere, an unlikely love story about an uber-smart astronaut in the 80s!
I was glued to every page, and didn’t want it to end… and funny enough, I wanted was more invested in the space, and less in the love story!! I’m currently finishing the Summer I Turned Pretty series, don’t ask me how I ended up reading that! It’s typical young-adult fiction, but I’m locked in to the end (no spoilers!). It’s actually the door to a yoga studio and ice cream shop I think…it was just around the corner from our hotel, Octavia Casa. I hope that helps enough for you to find it!
