Today I’m excited to share the latest outfit in my new weekly series, Summer of Style. And considering how many times I’ve worn it, I think it’s safe to say this is my new Summer uniform!
My goal is always to inspire you, and share ways to stretch your wardrobe…but sometimes a girl just wants a simple outfit idea! Especially in Summer, when the pace is slower, and style becomes a little simpler and more minimal. (At least in the Texas heat it does!)
So Summer of Style is just that…a weekly outfit to (hopefully) inspire your Summer wardrobe! They’re easy-to-recreate combinations, that cover all aspects of your life…work, weekend, date night, and lazy pool/beach days. And today’s dress is so versatile, it could take you from pool to dinner, and then to the mall the next day! Or maybe that’s just me.

You may recall I fell head-over-heels with this maxi (actually intended as a midi…#shortgirlscore!) in a recent Dressing Room Diaries, and just couldn’t leave it behind. The crisp cotton is so soft and lightweight, and moves easily without clinging. It feels amazing on, and shows just enough skin to give it a subtle sexiness…perfect for Summer nights! And did I mention it has pockets?!
True, it’s on the low-cut side, but that’s the perk of small boobs! However, this dress has several 5-star reviews from large-chested gals! I don’t feel overexposed (for most occasions, anyway), and the back is insanely flattering! If it’s too low for your taste, or you have a larger chest, this one has a higher neck and this one is only $38!
Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS regular…so it’s perfect maxi length with flat sandals. If you prefer a midi length (or you’re shorter, obviously), opt for the petite sizing. I wear it with these pasties for a little extra coverage, and to help keep the dress in place.

Do you have a black maxi in your Summer wardrobe? If not, I highly recommend one…they are so incredibly versatile, plus super comfy for so many occasions. They’re always my go-to when I know we’ll be sitting in grass, too…they’re like a built-in blanket! Am I the only one who’s brain thinks like that?!
