Sugarplum Style, Vol. 53

We’re at the half-way point, friends, and we’re almost to Friday! The Halloween frenzy is starting over here, and thank goodness both my kids decided to create their own costumes, because I know there’s nothing left in the stores! All the travel lately has thrown me off my game, and the holiday totally snuck up on me. Mr. SP and I are attending a ‘Must See TV’-themed party…do have any ideas for a couples costume? We were thinking maybe Ron Burgundy and Veronica Corningstone. They’re not exactly TV characters, but close enough maybe?

Today it’s time for another round of Sugarplum Style, snapshots of my everyday outfits I share on Instagram and Facebook, created by mixing and matching items in my closet. This round is a mash-up considering the different climates and events, but I hope they inspire you to stretch your wardrobe further by mixing up what you already have, and thoughtfully add new things.

I was thrilled to be part of the Bloom Workshop when it came to the Dallas area last week, and of course I busted out my favorite ‘go anywhere’ dress! I paired it with this cardigan for the chilly morning, and added statement earrings to make the combo more festive. (Good news…the dress is fully re-stocked, and new colors have been added!)

Shirtdress | Earrings (on sale!) | Booties

I feel like we’ve been chasing Fall, and finding it everywhere but in Texas! This cardigan and boot combo is pretty much my weekend uniform.

Long Cardigan (similar) | Similar Striped Tee | Dark Jeans | Crossbody Bag | Similar Boots | Sunglasses | Hoop Earrings

I shared these cargo pants with a subtle camo pattern in last weeks Dressing Room Diaries post, and I’m itching to wear them with this world’s softest turtleneck!!

Turtleneck Sweater| Cargo Pants | Booties | Necklace | Hoop Earrings

Just in case you thought you had to pack away your white jeans…think again! (See more white jeans after Labor Day inspiration here.)

Similar Cardigan | White Tee | White Jeans | Booties | Plaid Bag

TSA-pre status has totally changed the way I fly, but I still gravitate to comfy combos. This soft sweater and stretchy jeans were perfect for a long day travel, and people literally stopped me to comment on the tassel necklace!

Boyfriend Cardigan | Essential Tank | Tassel Necklace | Jeans | Booties | Monogrammed Bag

Traveling with this guy is always an adventure…even if he does ‘strongly encourage’ me to climb the scary stuff! Thank goodness for my trail shoes, they make me feel like Spider Girl! (Seriously, they grip all the surfaces!)

Funnel-Neck Hoodie | Hiking Shoes for Him | Off-the-Shoulder Sweatshirt | Cropped Leggings | Hiking Shoes for Her

We’ve started the college campus tours for the teenager #gulp, and took our first road-trip to visit a potential school. In my book, anything over an hour requires comfy clothes and copious amounts of snacks…so I went with cropped joggers and a tee.

Fit Tip: These joggers are so comfy, yet somehow chic!? I sized up to a small for a relaxed fit.

Jean Jacket | Scoopneck Tee | Cropped Joggers | Sneakers

When you want it to be Fall, but it’s still warm…you wear a tee and lightweight scarf! I love the gauzy material of this leopard, and it’s under $25!

Scoopneck Tee | Leopard Scarf | Jeans | Boots

This tee has become my Sunday game day uniform…even though it doesn’t represent any team colors on our roster. It just feels sporty to me, so I go with it.

Long Sleeve Tee | Best Jeans | Sneakers | Sunglasses | Hoop Earrings

We landed in Colorado Springs with little time to prep for the rehearsal dinner, so hopefully my outfit detracted from the rat’s nest I created on the back of my head. Never underestimate the power of a statement earring! (Seriously, you have to see these earrings! #obsessed)

Crewneck Merino Sweater | Pleated Skirt | Statement Earrings | Similar Booties

When you have a fresh new hairdo, a mirror selfie is in order! Plus, I can’t get enough of this cardigan and necklace. The blouse has the sweetest ruffle trim on the shoulders, too.

Boyfriend Cardigan | Ruffle Trim Blouse | Tassel Necklace | White Jeans | Booties

Trying to get a shot is tricky in this busy house…someone is always trying to photobomb! But Maggie Sugarplum is allowed, just look at her smile! As for my outfit, this v-neck is the softest fleecy fabric, and the infinity scarf doesn’t overwhelm. (And its under $25!)

Softest V-Neck Sweater | Plaid Infinity Scarf | Jeans | Similar Boots | Monogrammed Bag

This ribbed v-neck sweater is a great weight for these in-between temps, and will layer beautifully over collared shirts soon! And you know a margarita is good when you can’t put it down for a pic! (See our full Sedona Trip Report here.)

Ribbed V-Neck Sweater | Distressed Jeans | Monogrammed Tote | Cognac Boots

Oh look, there’s that boyfriend cardigan and tassel necklace. Again. Do you have the sweater? If so, you know why I’m addicted!

Boyfriend Cardigan | Essential Long Sleeve Tee | Jeans | Tassel Necklace | Booties| Watch

That’s it for today, I hope you found some new outfit inspiration, and fresh ideas for mixing things up in your closet!

    Such beautiful, colorful posts.
The pic of you and hubby under that red rock would have made a great Christmas card if son and daughter were in it. You do include it in a Christmas photo montage card.
The cardigan (oxblood!) and boot combo screams fall. Nice!

    A few questions:
I love the black pleated skirt, but was wondering if it lays flat or does it get big at the hips with all the pleats? Secondly, I’ve sent a couple dm about AMI and haven’t heard back from you. Maybe they are lost in the WORLD WIDE WEB 🙂
I love your style so much, so keep up the hard work.
