Sugarplum Style Tip | Shopping Designer Handbags for Less

Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? I had a date night with Mr. SP and a family night out, and it was glorious! I honestly don’t remember the last time that happened! Every weekend should be Mother’s Day. #amIright?!

We’ve got a fun week ahead on the blog, plus a BIG announcement just around the corner #monday, so I’m happy you’re here!

Today I’m sharing an unexpected source for finding luxury handbags, plus tips for buying them for less!

outfit details here

I love handbags, but pretty much every bag in my closet is under $100. In fact, the only luxury handbag I have was inherited from my grandmother. It’s not that I don’t love and appreciate designer handbags, I just have a hard time justifying the price tag.

I started carrying my grandmother’s Louis Vuitton last year for sentimental purposes, and I loved the vintage patina it added to outfits. Over time, I discovered it paired beautifully with almost every outfit, and I was rarely swapping to another bag. Plus, it kicked my outfits up a notch in the style department.

I started thinking about adding a new style, but still didn’t want to pay a small fortune for one! The answer was eBay Authenticated Handbags! Yes ma’am, I found this authentic Louis Vuitton crossbody on eBay, and for a fraction of the cost!

I love the freedom of a hands-free crossbody, and have always adored the Louis Vuitton ‘Sologne’ style. It’s roomie enough for a full day’s essentials, but not bulky…perfect for running around town, and especially traveling.

eBay is a great source for new bags, but I especially love it for finding discontinued styles like this one. Plus, I much prefer a Louis Vuitton with a weathered, vintage look, as opposed to shiny and brand-new. I love that this new-to-me bag already looks like I’ve owned it for years!

Tips for Shopping Luxury Handbags on eBay

eBay Authenticate is a new program designed with buyer’s confidence in mind, and bags are guaranteed by a team of industry experts to be completely authentic. So not only can you find amazing bags at great discounted prices, but eBay guarantees your bag is authentic.

It’s incredibly easy to search, discover, and purchase handbags that are authenticity verified on eBay:

  • Use the filters to select the brand and/or the price range that fits your needs
  • Select the ‘Authentically Verified’ filter
  • Shop with confidence knowing those bags are verified authentic, and come with an eBay money back guarantee!

All the verified listings also come with an extremely detailed description and accurate photos of the bag. The listing for my bag was very upfront with every little scratch and worn spot…which was actually what I was looking for! But also means, I knew exactly what I was getting.

The fact that my purchase had an independent industry expert verifying it’s authenticity gave me the confidence to ‘Buy It Now,’ and I’m so happy with my new vintage treasure! Have you purchased a designer bag on eBay? Would you consider it now??

Also, did you recognize the Bonita Ruffle Racerback Tank?! It’s back in a slew of new colors and this fun stripe. Find my outfit details here.

You are so cute and always have good content, but I am wondering why all of your posts seems to be sponsored lately? I love your crazy great finds and life hacks. Feeling like product placement is more the direction it is going lately. Wondering if content if going to become sponsored all the time? Happy thoughts to you on this Monday!

Hi Haley! Thanks so much for your feedback! I realize sponsored content can be a sore subject and tricky to navigate, but I’ve ALWAYS made sure my content is the same organic and authentic voice and opinion, regardless if it’s sponsored or not. The goal of sponsored content is to share new retailers, fresh ideas, and great sale opportunities…all of which hopefully add value to you as a reader! I turn down the majority of sponsored offers simply because they don’t fall within that perimeter. And while the majority of the working population is paid for 100% of their work, I limit mine to just 50% or less. I hope that eases your mind a bit, and you continue to follow along. I’m so grateful for your support over the years! xo. C

        Hi Cassie,
I just wanted to chime in and let you know that I actually really appreciate the sponsored posts as well as non-sponsored posts. I am a full time marketing executive and I am always on the go so I don’t have time to search out the great finds, sales, new retailers, etc. so I reach your blog & follow you on Instagram because I know that you are a great source of information that I find extremely helpful and valuable! You save me a ton of time! Thanks for everything you do and I am really looking forward to your big announcement (which by the way I’d put money on the fact that it is a new collaboration with Gibson! wink, wink 😉

Cassie…I’ve always loved your posts and I get that a girls gotta make a living but you’ve lost what made me get excited to open your emails everyday. You were great with tips (eg. the rule of three). Now it’s rare that a post isn’t sponsored or recycled pictures with a few new words. Please bring back the “old” Cassie post quality.

Hi Jen…thanks so much for your feedback! Sorry to hear this particular Sugarplum tip wasn’t helpful for you! I was certainly surprised to find such a great bag for an unbelievable price, and hopefully it inspired others. I’m not sure about the recycled pictures, I take new photos for 99% of my posts, but I do recycle outfits and pieces from my closet! xo. C

I scored an amazing quilted vintage Bally tote on eBay last week. It was in great shape and the interior was still in tact (some times they are dingy or start to breakdown) Since you’re in Dallas have you tried Dallas Designer Handbags? Still pricey but they are authenticated and lots to choose from the most stocked brand being LV. They have a shop on 75 plus a website. Havent bought anything from them yet…but I’ve for my eyes on a few 😉
