By now I’ve mentioned and teased last week’s trip to New York City until you’re sick to death of it, but today I’ll actually re-cap the whirlwind adventure. I’ve said it a million times…this crazy thing called blogging has brought so many amazing people and opportunities to my life, and I know it’s all thanks to you guys and your loyal support. My little spot on the internets has grown to be more than just a creative outlet for me, but a life outlet. #deep This blogging community is no longer a side-hobby, but my happy place every day, full of some of my favorite people.
I have no idea how I got invited to such an event (I don’t ask questions, just in case it was a mistake)…but when Lowes offered to send me to NYC for their Deck the Halls, my answer was a big, loud, obnoxious ‘YES!’ And the pot was sweetened when I found out my friends Megan, Courtney and Jen were going, too!
We only had one full day, and two nights, together, but we packed in as much food, wine, laughs, and sight-seeing as our feet would allow. I’m here to report we kind of conquered the subway, street hot dogs are amazing, Central Park is as gorgeous in the Fall as you’d imagine, and the site of the World Trade Center will still bring tears to your eyes.
Then it was time to hit up the event that brought us to the city…Lowes Deck the Halls and Walls and All!
Meeting fellow bloggers is always so exciting…to finally put a voice to the one you’ve been reading and admiring for years! These ladies are amazingly talented, and I could have talked to them for hours. (No, Mom, I’m not holding a pack of cigs…it’s my phone! P.S., I don’t smoke!)
The event was held in a cool loft, that had been completely transformed, and decorated for the holidays, by these fabulous designers…I’m talking rock-star bloggers here:
I had no idea Lowes carried so much fabulous holiday decor! I also
learned the only way to eat a cheesecake ball cooked in liquid nitrogen,
is just to go for it in one bite.
Megan, Courtney & the delightful Gabrielle | Me & Erika, who is just as fun & quirky in person as her posts |
Jen, Courtney, Megan & me trying to play it cool with John Collineri & Anthony Carrino, the Kitchen Cousins! |
It was a jam-packed, whirlwind of a trip, but one I’ll always treasure. I love these girls, and am so honored to call them friends. Thank you, Lowes, for making it happen!
You can see all my daytime outfits here, and I wore this exact outfit to the event, but with these booties. Be sure to check out Courtney and Megan‘s recaps today, too. So fun to see the city and party through different eyes. Have you made real-life friends online? What is your favorite thing to see and do in New York? Did you know Lowes had so much amazing holiday decor?
Your pictures are amazing! What a fun trip! What a bunch of beauties y'all are! So true about the WTC – total lump in the throat.
Amazing pictures. What a fun time. Love those ladies!!
Such a great recap, Cassie. Lowe's knocked it out of the ball park and it was such an honor to be there with you girlies. My heart is full. And thanks for your mad map skills!
Ha — I really was the last person who should have been navigating!! Glad I fooled you into thinking I knew where we were! 🙂
I loved seeing your sneak peaks on Instagram and Facebook. Looks like such a fun trip.
What beautiful pictures-thanks for sharing! NYC looks so beautiful in the fall, I'm glad you all got to spend time together 🙂
What an awesome experience!!! NYC?? You lucky, lucky girls!! But you all deserve it. Love your blogs. You all look like you had so much fun together. I really am digging the "Cheers" in the kitchen. I'm thinking I'll need to do some big letters like that in my kitchen for the holidays.
It was a really cool DIY…cut letters from cardboard, with lights poked through!
Such an awesome opportunity!!! Way to go Lowe's!
That looks like an amazing trip and even more amazing opportunity! How fun!
Looks like so much fun! And, duh, you were invited because you are rock star, too, friend! Love seeing so many of my favorite gals in one place. But from one friend to another, really… put down the smokes, Cass. KIDDING, KIDDING.
Right?! So gross.
Looks like you had a totally fabulous time!! I've never been to NYC, but someday 🙂 Love all the Lowes holiday stuff too, hopefully they bring some of it to Canada! Hope your week is going well Cassie! xo
Thank you, Britt — you too!!! xo
No one deserves opportunities like this more than you beauties! And you my friend, I adore you for all your fabulousness & for staying humble thru it all. AND that holiday party outfit?! I need those booties NOW.

PS. My fave pic is still that one of you biting that ball w/ the mesmerized guy in the background.

Your photos are fantastic! What a fun trip! You all are beauties. Such a fun event you attended and how amazing to spend it with your best blogging buddies! I love NYC and spent a good bit of time there but never quite mastered the subway. Found myself going the wrong direction many a time. Cassie, you look gorgeous in your black and gold outfit decked out in your jewels. Your hair is so cute.
That is my dream trip. I always thought I'd want to go at Christmas to see the tree at Rockefeller Center, etc., but I'm thinking that the fall may be the best time…beautiful colors and not as cold. Thanks for all those photos! I loved seeing everything!
So much to love about this post! Amazing pics of the city, four of my favorite bloggers, your mad fashionista skilz, and so much holiday goodness! So glad you were able to enjoy it all with your blogging besties 🙂 Congrats, Cassie! And can we talk about those red/white striped bar stools?!
