My gosh you guys are awesome!!! Thanks for all the love on my Winter Mantel! I think I’ll have to do those more often. Between meeting my precious new nephew for the first time, and all your positive comments…yesterday was pretty, pretty good. I think you’ll like today…at least you will if you’re interested in seeing new spaces in my house. Were you starting to think we lived in a one-bedroom with a kitchen and a mantel!?
I realized recently that we are all soul sisters (and brothers!) after your response to my Lamp-A-Looza post! Not many things get a heart racing as quickly as a smart lamp….especially one that’s less than $40. Which is the most I paid for any of these lovelies:
After I calmed down and got them home, the fun task was figuring out where they would live! Of course I had to try all three pairs in three different spots…I was like a rapid little rodent, scurrying all over the house. I started with the Dining Room since the only light source was the chandelier.
I like how regal they look, but don’t like covering up so much of the ‘art.’ And if the gourd lamps were too tall, I knew the stacked balls would be too. So I crossed my fingers and tried the metallic urchin-like lamps.
Perfect! They add the right touch of elegance and light, without covering up the pictures on the wall.
Some of you may notice the chair cushions are now a jewel-toned blue (as opposed to the orange they were at Thanksgiving). I’m plotting out some changes…starting with more pattern and color via new drapes. But I’m forcing myself to finish Babygirl’s Room before moving on. ‘The List’ seems to grow everyday!!
So that’s one pair down, two to go. Many of you commented about the lamp in this picture from the Magnolia Wreath post:
(Even though the post had nothing to do with the lamp…that’s just how observant you are! Love it! I’m the same way…so don’t go posting a pic if you don’t want me commenting about your sock laying in the corner. Oh yes, I noticed it.)
Here’s a better shot of the lamps from before Christmas:
I love these lamps, but never thought they were quite right for the space. Plus I stole one of them for Babygirl’s new room. And the other one moved to the Guest Room/Office. The base and shade are Target Treasures. And yes, I know the cords are obnoxious. The genius homebuilder put two outlets in this room…against the side walls! So adding light has been a challenge. Anyway….I knew this table needed two new lamps.
These could work, but I didn’t love them here.
These I like!
(I know the bookcases are a hot-mess! Another thing on ‘The List’ is to paint them and back with a fab fabric, after clearing out at least of the stuff! I’ll wait while you scroll back up to look at them.)
Moving on to the Master Bedroom. Remember this picture…and how much I hated that rinky-dink lamp?
The other side of the bed has a matching rinky-dink…this monster bed definitely calls for more substantial lamps!
I thought the gourd lamps could work, until I tried the stacked ball lamps. I’m feeling pretty smitten!
So? How’d I do…was it a successful Lamp-A-Looza?
I eventually took the plastic off of the shades; had to play it safe in case Rita Return decided to step in. So what do you think? Do you like where they ended up, or prefer them in different spots?
I love where you put all of them! Gotta love the prices of homegoods/tjmaxx they are the best places to find lamps!
LOVE the ones you put in the master – they are all great, but LOVING the master ones! 🙂
Love them all! I think your final spots were just right!
They all look great, and they all look like they were way more than what you paid for them! Love a bargain!
xo- Carmel
perfect lamps! awesome choices for their new spots!
Love them….they all look Just Right where they ended up. I myself have a lamp addiction. I should do a post on all the lamps in this house, and the ones in the basement that are waiting for a home.
Love ,love ,love your sofa! would you mind sharing the source? Thanks! [email protected]
All of the lamps look fabulous. You found the perfect place for them all. Hugs, Marty
WOW ! You did a great job. The scale of the lamps are perfect. I love your pictures, did you go to Greece?
Great job !!
Ohhh, love those little metal lamps! I brought home a bunch of lamps once … they're still sitting in a closet because I couldn't decide where to put them!
I love your lamps! I just recently bought 2 for my master bedroom and and I feel like I rushed in to it. Does that happen to you? I will have to check out Marshalls lamp section.
I love that you played around and found the perfect home for all three pairs- I think you made the perfect choice with each- they all look gorgeous. I LOVE lamps!!!
Just discovered your blog a couple weeks ago…LOVE IT!!! Great lamps, lOVE them all, my faves are the master bedroom and the dining room, but maybe….just maybe (sorry) it's looking a bit too symmetrical in the family room behind the blue couch. Same pillows on each side of the couch followed by same lamps on each side behind the couch. You could change up the pillows a bit, or just use one lamp off to the side of mid-center and then bring some other height in with some other things. Just sayin :))
great job! I adore your blue couch!!!!
great job! I adore your blue couch!!!!
I love these lamps! I think I actually have a couple of those! I bought a set that looks exactly the same as the ones you have with the big round base. I got mine from Homegoods, which I think is the same company as Marshalls. I've bought 5 (I think) lamps from there because they are so cheap! Love them!
Looks wonderful, my dear! I love those stacked ones in the master…perfection.
Perfect results!
Wow, you have quite the collection of amazing lamps!! I really love all 3 pairs and I think you found the perfect place for all of them!!
Yeah…they all found the perfect home! Love it. I am on a lamp kick myself. Discovered over the holidays that some of our rooms are just too dark. For instance, our library has NO overhead light and I hate it. Saw a few at Home Goods yesterday, but was smitten with any of them. Will try again. Wish they'd hurry up and open the one a mile away!
Love it, of course…I would've done the same, my dear! Funny enough, my fav lamp is they ones from target. I know, I'm jumping on the lucite bandwagon, but I can't help it, they are just so purty!!!

You can't see me, but I am holding up my score card that says "10" for each. My fav are the ones in the den on the sofa table. They look great in that space. M.
Lampa-palooza was a big hit. well done. I especially love the pair behind the couch. And the yellow flower pillows look cute there. I have a very bad habit of buying lamps and they don't look good anywhere! I've had to avoid the lamp section at HomeGoods. I might need a sponsor of Lamps Anonymous soon.
Love where you put them, you did a great job!
I totally think you got it right, it forced me to think about what looks good where. Who would have thought the height of your lamps could change a space but it totally does. Especially loving the bedroom ones as it totally balances that big bed!
Fab Post as usual!
Rachie xo
Yep, love them and am a little jealous! Speaking of noticing things, what's the story with the one mismatch knob on the buffet? Hey they picture was a close up and I'm obsessed with knobs 😉
Have you thought about painting the lamp cord a similar color to your couch? I should don that to some of my cords, but I've done more fun things instead.
they all look perfect! i especially love the bedside lamps- those are perfections! the family room looks so fabulous, cassie
The lamp locations are spot on! Your's would definitely be the best dressed kitchen, mantel one bedroom house ever 🙂
They are perfect! I love how you placed them. Thanks for sharing!
they all totally work and look fantastic! i'm with you on the list…mine just gets bigger, not smaller.
All 3 pair found the perfect home, great job!! I laughed out loud when I saw "Rita Return." If I buy anything retail, there is a good chance it will end up being returned or exchanged at some point 🙂
I am still upset that you didn't give me the stacked ball lamps for Christmas as I specifically requested, however I forgive you since they look SICK (which means awesome just case …..) in your bedroom.
And you know, funny enough, I am going to Marshall's today to look at some other stuff for the master bedroom, so sorry if I decide to steal your lamp thunder 🙂
ps: Thanks for the shout out on CasaSugar…..
love your house. that wreath is rad.
You found the perfect spot for all of them. They look great!
x
ok, i'm love with your sofa! is it velvet? looks incredibly comfy!
I think they look great… glad to see i'm not the only one who moves stuff from room to room until i find the right fit 🙂
I think they are all perfectly placed! Great lamps that your found, Cassie! Do you mind sharing where you found that gorgeous couch? That blue is stunning! I am looking for fabric in that color. Is it velvet? Those yellow pillows are fun! Your house is beautiful.
Hey, where did you get your blue sofa? It's adorable and looks super comfy.
Oh I do love where they ended up! I enjoyed going on a lil tour of your house to LOL
Paula
Great post Cassie- I feel like I'm talking to you, but with pictures!! I like seeing the process and how it turned out. I'm also a fan of making the purchase and then returning if it doesn't work out!
You really scored on the lamps! I think you found the perfect home for all of them.
I love where you placed all the lamps! You lucky girl, finding a home for all of them! I am headed to Homegoods today for my weekly trip! Wish me luck, hopefully I will bring home some goodies! Have a great weekend Cassie!
Hi,
I LOVE your blue couch, may i ask where you got it??
First of all, good eye! I love all of them and each one looks as if it were made for the spot you chose! If that were me, they'd have been piled into my cart, brought home, then returned. I have the ones you put in your living room.. but mine are turquoise!
oops.. wanna see them?

And I love the rug in your living room! So bright and cheerful!
I think you made the best choices for each spot! Great eye! I'm following now!
I hope you'll come enter my contest for a Thirty One Tote at http://www.illgetyoumypretties.blogspot.com
Yep, I would have chose all the same spots. Those lamps in your spaces are fabulous girl!
And why I have never noticed your couch before? It is amazing. I absolutely love it. Do you mind sharing where you got it? And those yellow flower pillows look great on it. (I always see those at Target and want to bring them home with me, but don't know where to put them!)
Yay! I am no longer going to be afraid to spend a little money and get multiple nice things for my house at one time! I love the urchin lamps and you got them perfectly situated… but i actually liked the gourd lamps in the bedroom. Whatever, it all looks great and love your blog!
Lamp-a-looza was a screaming success!!! I especially love the ones behind the couch, they look great there.
Hi…just found our blog today. I love your living room. The lamps are great. I love…love your pillows…where did you find them.
I love all the different types of lamps you showed! It's amazing how a pair of lamps can really make a space pop and give it some personality. I got some new ones a while ago and it gave me the jump-start I needed to style my entry wall 🙂
