Ramblings

Who’s dragging after staying up to watch the Super Bowl? I was indifferent to the teams this year, but I’m always down for the half-time performance…and game day snacks! I may not be wearing any rings today after that level of salt intake! #worthit While I recover from an evening of gluttony, how about a brain dump of what’s been rambling through my head lately?!

ONE // We wrapped up the Master Closet project with the installation of the jaw-dropping chandeliers and leopard carpet! I can hardly wait to reveal the full space to you…hopefully next week!

TWO // I always hate sharing fun finds with you, only to have them sell out. But I’m happy to report several of my favorite pieces of late are now back in stock…starting with these cute booties, in two great neutral colors. I just love the little v-shape in front…so genius in creating the look of a longer leg!

Sweater Top | Puffer Vest | Jeans | Booties | Crossbody Bag | Watch | Bracelet

My favorite snuggly cardigan, that I basically live in every second I’m at home, is restocked…with a bunch of new colors added! Granted it’s a little pricey, but not an evening goes by that you won’t find me wrapped in it.

Favorite Cardi | Striped Tank | Fleece Lounge Pants | Boots

I adored this tiered lace dress from a recent Date Night Style post…so classic, yet just enough extra detail to make it special. It’s back in stock in both black and red (hello, Valentine’s Day!), and now available in both regular and petite sizing. (I’m wearing a regular 0)

Tiered Lace Sheath Dress | Perfect Patent Pumps | Similar Clutch | Watch | Earrings

THREE // My dear friend, and favorite design collaborator, Kristin Jackson, just launched a brand new site! It’s so gorgeous and well-organized, and chock-full of design ideas and tips, so you’ll definitely want to check out the new Hunted Interior. We’ve already started scheming our next room design, and fingers crossed it happens sooner than later! And if fitness is more your game, my lifelong friend and college roomie, Angi Abercrombie, of Abercrombie & Fitness, shares daily inspiration to get in shape and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Wish she’d had these tips for us back then! #freshman15

FOUR // While we’re on the topic of darling friends doing awesome things, Michelle just built a new farmhouse and is revealing all the glorious, bright spaces on her blog, Ten June. It’s enough to make Joanna Gaines swoon!

FIVE // Dallas recently opened a Shake Shack, so obviously we had to see what all the fuss was about! Of course it was delicious…when isn’t a hamburger and fries not delicious…but I have to say, I think In-n-Out is better! But being a Texan, I’m also fairly partial to Whataburger. What’s your fast-food burger of choice? Am I crazy to not understand the obsession with Shake Shack?!

SIX // With all this dreary weather lately, we’ve been hitting up the movie theatre most every weekend. I like to see as many of the Oscar-nominated flicks as we can…so far we’ve seen Manchester by the Sea, Arrival, Hidden Figures, and Lion. I hope we’ll see the rest of them, but I can’t imagine any will steal my heart and crush my soul the way Lion did! What have you seen and loved lately?

SEVEN // We’re planning our family Spring Break trip, and it’s so much easier now that our kids are older! They can go anywhere and pretty much handle any activity. I vividly remember those early years though, and the preparation it took just to survive the travel days! My friend Shay, a seasoned traveler, wrote a great post about Traveling with Kids that is full of great tips and ideas to take the stress out flying or driving with little ones.

EIGHT // Speaking at the Bloom Workshop in Tampa was a highlight for me last year, and I’m so honored they’ve asked me back for the Dallas stop this year! It is the most inspiring two days, bursting with so much creativity and beauty. The Bloom Workshop is designed for creative women who are eager to learn about blogging, social media, photography, interior design, event design, calligraphy, floral design, and more. If you’re in the Dallas area, and these topics apply to your small business, I can’t encourage you enough to check it out!

Update: Use code HISUGARPLUM for 20% discount on registration!

NINE // With Valentine’s Day next, we’re busy creating all the goodies associated with Little Miss’s class party. I love making small gifts for teachers and girlfriends, and usually turn to these past projects.

Felt Coffee Sleeves

Sweetheart Ring Dish

Linzer Heart Cookies

Cake in a Jar

TEN // Finally, several items I’ve featured lately are now on super-sale, starting with this darling fair isle sweater. Use code SHOPNOW and it’s only $27!

Similar Coat | Fair Isle Sweater | Favorite White Jeans | Similar Earrings | Ring | Sunglasses | Lipstick in ‘Yu’

This little ruffled top Mama SP and I love is down to $29, but definitely size down.

Ruffle Sweater | Similar Distressed Jeans | Wedge Booties | Bootcut Jeans | Taupe Bootie

This Signaturesoft line is pretty much the equivalent to wearing pajamas in public, except nobody looks at you strange. This cowlneck tunic is half-off, making it just $25!

SignatureSoft Cowlneck Tunic | Dark Jegging Jeans | Cognac Block-Heel Booties

This fuzzy-soft sweatshirt with ribbed arms is 33% off, and available in tons of colors. It’s also long enough for leggings!

Shirt | Wedge Booties | Taupe Cutout Booties

Finally, now that these booties are under $100, I’m tempted to get them in brown, too! So good for Spring and Fall!

Cowlneck Dress | Moto Jacket | Leopard Clutch | Booties

What’s rambling through your head these days? I’d love to hear what’s going on in your world!

Hi! I love your closet chandelier!! I have a similar one and have trouble finding LED lightbulbs with the candelabra base that don’t look too blue/fluorescent. Which do you use?

Mine are just the Home Depot LED brand…look for soft white instead of natural or bright. That will give it a little more of a warm glow. xo

The school where I teach gives us the Monday after the Super Bowl off….how great is that?! We saw La La Land this weekend. I’d recommend you wait to rent it. It’s very slow. In the burger note…Steak ‘n Shake is a Midwest favorite. The Frisco melt is where it’s at! We also like Five Guy’s but can’t eat there anymore due to my son’s peanut allergy (they have peanuts everywhere), so Culver’s gets our business.

As for the closet, I didn’t know you were working on yours, I just wanted to share with you mine a bit? it was my husband’s Valentine gift and we did ours thru the IKEA PAx system, and since my blog is by no means popular, I wanted to know what your thoughts are on mine? I have no doubt, your closet will be Vavavavoom just like the rest of your house Cassie. Thanks a bunch!
