Little Bits of Fall

I love Fall, but I always have a hard time saying goodbye to Summer. I tend to hold on a little longer to the casual style, and a little tighter to the lazy days…wearing my flip-flops until the last possible second, and denying the pumpkin spice lattes swirling around me. But eventually I get there, and once I pull on the boots and scarves, it’s Fall-time!

I don’t change up too much around the house, and save the major holiday decorating for Christmas (see our previous Christmas Home Tours here), but I do like to swap out pillows and throws, and bring in Fall foliage and flowers. And of course food…Fall is all about the comfort food, right?

And Fall decor can be more than just hay, burlap and gourds…in fact, I ushered in Fall without a pumpkin in sight! Well, maybe one.

It may still be 90-degrees out, but I’m just about ready for you, Fall! Have you started breaking out the cozy throws and pinecones yet? Do you change up your decor for Fall, or wait for the holidays? Which, by the way, are practically around the corner!

I love your fall decor. It's so simple and elegant. Just yesterday I started to give it some thought. I broke out a lightweight plaid dress today, sleeves rolled up. Just couldn't wait any longer.

  3. I want to decorate, but it's just too HOTTTTTT. These touches are perfect. I can do these. Ok, what is that plant in your console table? I've been looking for one and can't find it!

Cassie, where did you get your Z plant on top of the console table? And is it doing well in that spot?

    • I've had it for several years, actually….can't believe I haven't killed it! I picked it up at a local nursery, and it's thriving in this spot (no direct sun, but afternoon light). xoxo

I decorate for Fall but not until October. Since I leave the decor out through Thanksgiving I feel like two months is long enough! Plus it's still been 80 degrees outside! I do like your subtle touches to usher in the season though…that might be something I could get myself into. 🙂

    • Agreed!! October is early enough for me, too…but you know we bloggers have to do kookie things! 😉 xo

  8. I love your art, but I find Minted the most frustrating website to deal with. I wish they would just show prices up front and not make you click. How do you have the patience to get such great art from them?

    Posted 9.13.16 Reply
    • Really?! In my experience, most every piece is the same base price…it's the size and frame you choose that makes it fluctuate. My problem is sorting through all the great options and choosing just one!!

  9. Love those peacock plates! I think the console table from World Market has been my fave furniture purchase ever. I know that sounds crazy but it truly transformed my living room into a much cozier place. Thanks for all your ideas!

    • I know everyone likes different things, so I try to include a little bit of everything. Home posts and projects are very time consuming (not to mention, expensive!), so those usually come about once a week. Thrilled you liked this one! xo
