Sugarplum Style, Vol. 12

Sweet mother of pearl…tomorrow is tax day! I’m drowning in paperwork, and I’m about ready to shove the pencil in my eye! I’m a colors and patterns girl…numbers are not my forte. #sendhelp #andwine #andanextension
But enough about that nonsense, let’s talk about fun stuff…like clothes, and new outfit combinations…with the next round of Sugarplum Style!
This was year two wearing my camo pants, and I’m still riding that train. Bets are I’ll be riding it next year, too. On a side note, this is also year two of my boss making ‘I can’t see you!’ jokes every time I wear them. Every time.
Camo Jeans (similar) | Oxford Pullover (similar) | Pendant Tassel Necklace
We still had cool temps a month ago, so I eased in to Spring with tees, scarves, light jackets, and booties. But as it warmed up, you can see I took my own How to Transition to Spring advice
Booties (similar) | Sunglasses
Every time I saw someone in a jean vest last year, I thought they looked too cute for words…so when I spotted this one this year, I decided to try it for myself. Now I’m wondering what took me so long?! I mean, clearly I’m obsessed with the vest’s older sister, the jean jacket, so of course I’d love this, too.

Little tip: I think it looks best layered over short-sleeve tees or tanks. And popping the collar gives it some sass.
I wore my jean jacket slightly buttoned this day, to make it more of a top, than a layer.
Sidenote #2: I’ve received lots of messages about my self-tanner….don’t worry, I’ve got a tips and tricks post coming up next week! #caspercalled

Oh hey, favorite striped bag o’ mine…happy to see you again! And have you seen their new Monogram Stripe Collection?! I’ve died and gone to preppy heaven. #gimmeallthestripes You probably shouldn’t click over if you have plans today…you’re likely to be playing with the options for hours. Update: Use code MAMA10 for 10% off!!

Everything looks better with white jeans, don’t you think? I love how classic this outfit looked with the block-heel sandals. I roughed it up a bit with the field jacket and spike bracelet.

I hit the roller rink to show the kids how the limbo is really done. #itdidntgodownlikeIexpected #seewhatIdidthere
Skates (rentals) 😉

Maxi skirts have been my staple lately…the weight is perfect for this time of year, but they still keep you covered. PS…my fringe bag is back in stock.

Jean Jacket | White Tee | Statement Necklace (similar)

I threw a Garden Party…for one. I don’t love anything more than gingham with floral. Except maybe stripes with floral. Or chips and salsa.

Putting the Power of One theory to good use by pairing a fun necklace with a basic outfit.

More Spring inspiration herethis top and these shoes will make frequent appearances this season!

Mr. SP and I are planning our next trip, and it presents opportunities to wear dressier-than-usual outfits…so I’m taking full advantage and having fun with it. First option is this vibrant maxi dress…I asked you all on InstaGram and Facebook if I was wearing the dress, or if it was wearing me. I love having a whole community of online girlfriends to ask these tough questions! Did you weigh in?

I hope these posts inspire you to create new combinations from your closet! The key isn’t to have more clothes, but to mix up what you do have in new and different ways.
You can catch up with past installments of Sugarplum Style here, or follow my everyday-style outfits on InstaGram. Make sure you’re following my Facebook page, too…that’s where I post deals, steals, sales and goodies!

Psssst….Did you know you don’t have to wait for these posts to get details on what I’m wearing? Just check the ‘Shop My Feed’ widget in the sidebar for all the scoop! #whatwilltheythinkofnext

  1. Girl- you are just too cute for words, and now I feel the overwhelming desire to shop. A lot. Can't wait to check our your camo pants. I tried some on last year, and the fit was so bad that I couldn't try on another. Maybe it's time to try again 🙂

  6. You are too cute…I don't know why I haven't ordered that darn vest yet either. I think I keep having flashbacks to sophomore year of high school and my vest and jeans that were solid on the front and striped on the back.

    I always love these posts.

Now to lose 20 lbs to get back to all my cute clothes I can't wear!! How do you keep your cute figure??

And how do you take your fashion "selfies". When I try to take a pic like that of my outfit, it does not turn out. I end up taking a pic of the sidewalk.

Can't wait for the self tanner post! I have PALE irish skin and live in the midwest. I've learned to embrace my paleness over the years. It must be harder in warmer weather states to be pale. I couldn't even image! :o)

  15. Gingham and floral should be your uniform. Every day, January-December. Gingham and floral. EVERY. DAY. With a striped bag.

  16. Cassie- love your style posts! I bought the Kendra Scott pendent necklace in turquoise and it is a really odd blue color, not what I would consider traditional turquoise. What color do you have??? Thanks!!!
