Simple Halloween Projects & Treats

Next to Christmas, Halloween has always been a favorite holiday around here. It’s hard not to get swept up in the excitement when you have kids in the throes of the trick-or-treat years. Our porch is decked out in pumpkins ready to be carved, and the kid’s costumes are in the closet….but other than that, we haven’t done much in the way of Halloween this year.

Between the busyness of life, school, and the {One Room Challenge} lately, the holiday kind of snuck up on us. But to quell my spooky fever, I rounded up some of my favorite Halloween projects, parties, and decor from past years.

And of course I can never leave out my Mr. SP Cullen…I remember peeing my pants laughing at him in the tree like it was yesterday! To you single gals out there, marry the funny one!

What are your Halloween plans? Do you have any last minute treats or projects planned? I added touches of Fall around the house, but that’s probably it for us until Christmas.

  1. I made pottery barn knock off luminary lights this year but I'd love to find the time to make that Dahlia, it's Dah-ling.

  4. You are so inspiring…these are all such great ideas! My faves are the mummy lights and the birds mantel. I just decorated my house for Halloween for the first time ever and it was so fun and my kids love it. I posted about it on my blog at http://www.interiorsbytessa.blogspot.com…would love to see what you think. And now I have more ideas to add next year! Thanks!

  6. This is our first year having trick or treaters (ironically we never had them in the city but moved to a rural area and were told expect them.) so I'm just excited to be handing out candy! We're a nightshift family so parties are out. Otherwise, the decorating begins in November! We dont really dig Xmas but thanksgiving is huge!

  9. The mummy lights are my favorite! Halloween snuck up on us, too. I think it's because the kids are out of elementary school.

  10. Mr SP Cullen is AWESOME!! I literally laughed out loud. My husband would die a slow painful death before he would dress up like that! 😉
    Happy Halloween from Oklahoma!
