Welcome back to Week 4 of the {One Room Challenge}! Let’s recap for those popping in for the first time…we’re tackling the ‘formal’ Living Room for this go-round (we did our Master Bedroom in the previous ORC). My goal was to create the feel of a jewel-box, with deep colors, lots of glam, and an element of drama, and I’m collaborating on the room with the most talented girl I know!
Week 1 I showed the Before shots and room layout, Week 2 was all about the Design, Plans, and a big fat Hiccup, and last week was major Demolition Zone. Okay, now that we’re all on the same page…let’s get after Week 4.
Let there be light!!

We added additional overhead lighting with this aged brass drum pendant chandelier, and I’m already in love with the statement it makes in the room. We went with the largest size so it would really stand out once the shelves are finished and styled. I think it’s going to be exactly what the room needed to pull it all together and give it a center point.

We also added additional light on the side wall with these classic aged brass sconces. This more affordable option was our first choice, but the aged brass was backordered past our deadline. Fortunately, Bellacor is one of our very generous sponsors! To simplify and minimize expense, we added just a single dimmer switch to operate both the sconces and pendant.

I’m dying to see the mirror in place, but I’m not taking the chance given all the construction still left to do!

The rest of last week’s progress came in the form of beautiful deliveries….

I also stumbled on what I hope will be the perfect side tables…and bonus they are 25% off with code FURNSHIP!
I fell down the rabbit-hole of art at Minted….and six episodes of How I Met Your Mother later, I finally chose the accent art for the room. I can’t wait to see it all framed and in-person… especially Miss Idalia.

And finally, the drapes arrived and are so gorgeous and flawlessly sewn!!!

But of course I want to add a little something-something to them, and ordered these fun trims from DecoratorsBest. I’m waffling between two…which one gets your vote?

I believe everyone has at least one week in the ORC where things stall a bit…or at least I hope they do! This was that week for me. I feel like I was really busy and productive, yet I don’t have a lot to show for it. Hopefully that means next week is a doozy of progress! Oh Linda, what are the chances of getting an extension???
Dah-ummm!!! I love it so very much! I can't wait to see it all come together! That art is off the chain good!! And those drapes … C for moi please!!! You are killing it!!! xo
I vote for a. because it mimicks the drum light. Your room will be beautiful as always…Rebecca
As for the trim, I love b and d, a is okay, but c doesn't do much for me. But I have no doubt that whatever you choose will look great.
Trim c
Looking good, Cassie! Those built-ins are a game changer! I like A for the trim. It adds detail and interest without being distracting. Can't wait to see you pull it all together!
I vote for d! I think it would really take the drapes up a level by adding another layer of richness and texture. The room is looking good!
It all looks beautiful. I like for the trim either A or C. I think B is too casual and D is too something. I like that A mirrors the chandelier pattern, but wonder if there is too much white space…
Trim C!:)
Looking good! I vote A for the trim; mirrors the light and also classic so you could use the drapes in another space years from now if you wanted.
I 'm dying over that chandelier. gorgeous!! And…I agree with Cynthia Zalewsky regarding the trim. D!!!! Love the texture:)
Trim A! The others are too busy. I like A's simplicity and the geometric pattern, which echoes other elements in the room.
Trim c. or d. for me. Beautiful drapes.
YAAASSS, honey! I love option "C". And I have been eyeing that art too! I've had it in my cart forever. SO AMAZING!
I'm sure it will turn out beautifully! I really like option A for the trim!
C. Are you painting the bookcases yourself??
In love with those pillows and chairs. And of course the chandy. Such great choices. Home stretch!!!!
My room is not painted yet either! Love your lighting choices and your Tonic Living pillows – so good! I love trim D – the lighter blue picks up on the blue in the pillows and art and love the 3d effect. But C is also good. Whatever you choose for the stunning yellow drapes will be amazing! Good luck in the remaining 12 days or so.xo
I vote for A.
And love the dog!
I am kinda obsessed with your art choice…and jealous. You better get that pooch to work!
I really like option A. I looks like your style. Love the pillows and the drapes. Can't wait to see the room all pulled together. Wednesday has become my favorite day of the week.

Squealing over here!!!!! You are channeling all of my color loving dreams while i'm over here trying to find my way in neutrals and pastels #wishmeluck
Love the direction the room is going. My vote for the curtain trim is option D!
Cassie, I love how you are so bold with color. This is going to be such a happy room. Love your selections and the scale seems spot on. Good luck with painting!
It's looking so good! I can tell it matches your personality so well!
I love how everything is coming together! I like how trim A mimics the pattern in the light fixture.
Oh, it's going to be great!! Definitely D for the trim. It looks luxe and rich and awesome!
I think the art is going to be the scene stealer! And trim A!
LOOOVVVEEE this! It is looking amazing, and the art is the perfect pop. Can't wait.
I vote for A!! Love the drum light so much! Can't wait to see it all come together 🙂
I like A but D is jumping out at my favorite. No vote for B. That sweet face pup!

What a luxe looking transformation! I give you credit Cassie, for your own sensibilities and for working with Kristen! Everything that girl touches is gold. If only I could afford such pretties and to have Kristen do designs for me too. I can't wait to see the room. It's gorgeous and so very you already. Trim D is my favorite by the way. I like A too. I think the texture in D is a nice grounding to everything else going on.
love the sconces and mirror!!! can't wait to see it all come to live in a couple more weeks!
Simply gorgeous! Can't wait to see it all put together! And I like trim option A. 🙂
My vote is for A or C! And can we talk about that pendant light?!? It is amazing and even more beautiful at night! Great job! I can't wait to see it all complete.
I have tried to comment for a couple of days but I couldn't…..not sure why! Anyway….that chair with those pillows…..made me happy! You and Kristen are pulling this together and it's gonna be so so good!
Coming along nicely ! I vote for A, it's a classic.
I am taking a study break and blog-reading and had to visit my fave Cassie first… loving what you're doing so far in this room! I am aching to overhaul a few rooms in my house but it'll have to wait until school is done. Bleh.
