I’m thrilled you guys are excited about the Early Spring style series this week, because I loved putting it together! And from the sound of it, we’re all ready for warmer weather and lighter clothes, so I hope this week gives you some fun ideas. If you missed Day 1, check out my navy and white combo here. Today we’re switching to a work ready style, with proper pleats and preppy stripes.
Pleated Skirt (midi version) | Striped Oxford | Statement Necklace (cute embroidered version) | Favorite Pumps | Earrings | Similar Bag
Remember my formula for transitioning to Spring? This outfit follows it exactly by pairing a short skirt with long sleeves. I love the contrast of the skirt and necklace with the casual jean jacket, too.

When the days get warmer, I’ll roll the sleeves up more, and lose the jacket…maybe swap the shoes to a peep-toe. Oh, and note my new lipstick! It’s a liner and lipstick, all in one, actually making my lips look fuller! (Color ‘Pink Thrills.’)

Sugarplum Style Tip: Give your outfit, especially classic combinations, more personality by popping the collar, doing a casual cuff, or layering on the jewels. Or even all three!

March always makes me ready for spring even though it’s pretty much felt like spring all winter here. I love that bag, too!1

I am so ready for Spring and lighter colors and clothes! I love the preppy striped top and the necklace makes the whole outfit feel unique and special! I’m enjoying your series and look forward to more ideas!
Love the new bag… is this going to be your neutral choice for spring/summer? Gorgeous! I’m so ready to start thinking happy, brighter colors again! xo
Such a great, classy look! That pleated skirt is so versatile and perfect for spring! Love this look!

This outfit sums me up, Cassie! I also use your seasonal transitioning formula and it works perfectly every time! Like this morning waking up seeing the high is 68 and not 80 like the day before.
Not many people can pull off pleats,,,you make it look so sassy and a stellar professional fun look for business attire. Thanks for the tips. Your legs are lean girl! http://www.abercrombieandfitness.wordpress.com
Love, love, love this outfit! That skirt is adorable, and I love how you’ve styled it with the striped shirt. You look great!
Your tips for getting the look are so helpful. Looking at a picture doesn’t say it all.
This outfit is professional but still fun. You could replace the jean jacket with a blazer and roll the sleeves to up the look. Love it!
Is that lipstick available anywhere other than Sephora?
I bought mine directly from a Benefits store…some Ultas carry it, too. xo
Beautiful! How do you go sockless with patent leather pumps? Do you wear discreet socks or apply deodorant to soles or something to prevent feet from sweating too much?
Patent shoes don’t feel or fit me any differently than normal leather shoes…the insides are still the same. I’ve been wearing heels for years, thanks to different corporate jobs, so I guess I’m just oblivious to it! 😉 xo
You look beautiful! I love that skirt!
Well gosh thank you!!! I wish I had a link for it still, it’s a little too old! xo, C
