How was your weekend, friends? We flew to Vegas for the start of our Spring Break trip, and can I just say how different the Vegas experience is with the family instead of girlfriends! I was a little concerned about having kids there, but it was actually a lot of fun, and we loved seeing their reaction to the Strip at night.
We woke up in Zion National Park this morning, and even though it doesn’t feel much like Spring here, it’s beginning to warm up for many of you. Transitioning between seasons is always tricky, especially so in the early days of Spring. You know, when you’re anxious to pull out lighter layers, but the temperatures are still downright chilly!
I use a simple formula during this transitional season…I cover either my arms or my legs. #thatsit #toldyouitwassimple By not exposing both, I don’t get too chilly, and not covering both keeps me from looking overly-bundled. Usually. Texas is temperamental, so some days all bets are off.
To illustrate my point, I’m sharing a full week of inspiration, in {5 Ways} Transitioning to Spring.
Today’s post is a bit of a two-for-one, because I styled the outfit two ways…first with these darling flats (on sale!) and pops of pink. This top has longer sleeves, but the off-the-shoulder signals Spring…especially when paired with white. You know I’m a fan of white jeans year round (see them 5 Ways After Labor Day here), and early Spring is no different. They add a crispness to your outfit, while still keeping you covered up.
Fit Tip: Most off-the-shoulder tops are quite billowy, but this one stays closer to the body and isn’t too overwhelming. It stays (mostly) put on your shoulders, and runs true to size. These have been my go-to white jeans for awhile, but they run big, so size down one!

For a slightly dressier, more neutral look, I paired the outfit with heeled booties and a classic bag. You likely recognize this deer print bag, since I carried it all Fall and Winter long…and look how darling it is with breezy, Spring looks, too! I’ve yet to carry it that someone doesn’t stop me to a) remark on how cute it is, and b) pet it to see if it’s real. No joke. (It’s actually printed canvas, but you’d never know unless you touched it!)

Sugarplum Style Tip: This bra is a great alternative to a strapless, and stays put all day. And these are my undies of choice.
I don’t wear flats often, but this pair was too cute to pass up. They are soft and bendable, and feel like walking on little cushy clouds! There are several fun color options, but I’m partial to pink. #mahsignaturecullah #namethatmovie
Fit Tip: The flats are true to size, and the leather lace allows for a custom fit.

Hi Cassie! Thank you for sharing your bra tip, because I was wondering. I hate strapless bras, especially when the top you’re wearing is loose and there’s no support. I was wondering though how you manage all day is an off the shoulder blouse like that? I feel like I have to walk like a robot because if I lift my arms they top slips up over my shoulders. Then it’s just all day finagaling with it. Do you have that issue? I bought an off the shoulder maxi dress, wore it once, and gave it away.
Totally understand the robot arms!! I do feel like that sometimes, but not so much in this top bc it tends to stay put better. But also, I only wear it on certain occasions when it’s not necessary for me to have full range of motion all day! 😉
Although off the shoulder tops aren’t for me I love love love the color combo! I ordered the flats in the nude color and can’t wait! Ghillie shoes are my favorite! How are the earrings? Are they light weight? I love the look but just not sure. Happy spring break!
The earrings are literally light as a feather! I don’t even feel them in my ears! xo
Obsessed with those flats!!! Love how you added other fun colors in this outfit! Those jeans fit you like a glove! Have a great week

I love both of these looks, and I’m so ready for spring! Those pink flats with that clutch- perfection!
LOVE the pink flats with that outfit! So SO cute!!
LOVE the bright colors on you girl! You rock those!! I’m currently loving off the shoulder tops too!
I love your simple tip, and it’s so appropriate for spring in Dallas 🙂 This off the shoulder top has been teasing me for a while, and I’m thinking today’s the day to pull the trigger! Have a blast on your spring break trip–can’t wait to hear about it because something similar is on our family bucket list, as well.
I don’t know how you pull off those cold shoulder tops – but you do! They are not for me but I also love the flats. 🙂
Love this outfit on you. I’m about 5’7″ and the top looks kind on short on the Nordstrom website, but it doesn’t look short on you. What are your thoughts please?
I’m 5’4″ with a long torso…but I think it has enough length for taller frames. That’s what I like so much about it, it’s not so long and billowy like many OTS tops. xo
Love this blue and white combo! You are so right about transitioning to spring- cover up arms or legs, one or the other. I love to bust out skirts in the spring with long sleeve tops.
The link for the shoes is not working. What brand are they?
I think some websites were down early…all the links should be working now!
