Early Spring | Ruffles & Red

Today we’re continuing the {5 Ways} series of transitioning to early Spring, and this outfit is a fun punch of navy and red! (See day 1 with blue and white here, and yesterday’s work wear style of pleats and stripes here.)

Ruffle Tee | Jeans | Similar Boots | Pearl Cluster Necklace | Similar Red Bag | Sunglasses | Watch | Spike Bracelet

Ruffles are everywhere this season, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. This tee has a peplum flare to the bottom, made even cuter by the striped ruffle. (It comes in solid colors, as well.)

Fit Tip: I wanted a more relaxed, flared fit to the tee, so I sized up to a small. If you’re large-chested, I’d definitely recommend sizing up, too. The body of the tee is really soft and stretchy cotton, and the ruffle a more structured poplin cotton.

Texas Springs are fairly warm, so I’d normally pair this combo with sandals like these, but I wanted to show those of you in cooler climates another option. You could even add a light jacket (I’d choose this one), if needed, but still look ready for Spring.

I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of the ruffle top this season! How cute will it be with white jeans!?

So cute! Change out the pants for shorts or skirt and it forks for July 4th, too! I love the ruffle trend and hope it sticks around for a while.

Adorable on you but this shape is not good on me. The pretty ruffles would disguise my waistline and I’d look like a blob. But I’ll keep looking because you’ll offer other looks that might flatter me more on other days…

This is adorable! That tee is perfect with the striped ruffles- I love the asymmetric look. The pop of red in your bag is so fun. You look great!
