Happy Friday, friends, and cheers to the weekend! What have you got planned? We decided to just embrace the never-ending heat, and Little Miss is having a little swim party tomorrow. So odd in October, right?! I’m also putting the finishing touches on a big announcement coming Monday…so stay tuned for that!

But I’m super psyched about today!! I’ve got a huge new Dressing Room Diaries with Mama Sugarplum, and it’s a GOOD one. Like, seriously good. In fact, it’s longer than my typical DRD posts because I just couldn’t cut as many as I usually do! (I only include items I’d wear and whole-heartedly recommend!) New seasonal pieces are really rolling in now, and the retailers are bringing their A-games, so get excited!

You know the drill with Dressing Room Diaries… I hunt down some of the cutest items from my favorite retailers, and review them for you. As usual, the shots aren’t good, the lighting is bad, and I’m in desperate need of a hairbrush. But it’s real life, real girl, real clothes… and hopefully helpful for you to see them this way, instead of perfectly styled on a model. So let’s get started!

Fit Note: I’m 5’4″-ish, 120 pounds-ish (depending on the week’s taco count), with a slight pear shape. My usual size is XS/0. Mama Sugarplum is 5’1″, with an hourglass figure, and her usual size is XS/2p.

We’re going to try something a little different this week, and group the items by retailer, instead of clothing category. But definitely let me know which you prefer!

As if the cheesy grin on my face weren’t indicator enough, this ruffle collar sweater had me swooning!! My go-to Tippi sweater in the lightest merino wool, but with a darling contrasting ruffle at the collar. So cute with jeans, trousers, and skirts, and especially peeking out from under a blazer!

Leopard love with the splash of pink! This soft pullover is a stretchy sweater knit, with a fun combo of olive, black and pink making up the on-trend leopard pattern. I love the close fit, and thickness…but of course it’s the pink that has my heart!

This skirt had me at blush pink! So unexpected for Fall and Winter, yet pairs beautifully with rich Fall colors. It’s a thick wool blend with just a touch of stretch, and fully-lined. It’s sturdy enough for tights in Winter, and so chic with a blazer. I paired it with sweaters, but camis, tanks and blouses would be beautiful, as well.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a regular 0, but would size up one if in-between.

How can I resist pink polka dots?! I can’t, that’s how! Love the deep plum of this sweater, paired with the bright pink dots. It’s a thick, warm sweater, but soft enough to wear alone. The buttons at the shoulder are a cute detail, and it could easily pair with trousers and skirts, as well as jeans.

The softest sweater in my closet…I reached for this repeatedly last year, and I’m thrilled to see it back…and in incredible new colors!! It’s soft and warm, with a relaxed mock neck and perfect fit.

It’s safe to say my jogger collection is quickly overtaking the jeans in my closet! They’re just so stinking comfortable! And when paired with cute sneakers and a jean jacket, they’re fun street style, too! These camo joggers are stretchy cotton, a little on the thinner side, so not bulky at all.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a small, but only size up if you plan on throwing in the dryer.

One of my favorite sweaters every year is back, baby!! Gorgeous cashmere under $100!! You’ll be hard-pressed to find better cashmere for the price, and it comes in a slew of colors. Yep, a slew! I love the turtleneck and crewneck versions equally, so it’s really just a preference thing. Style them with jeans, trousers, skirts… dress them up, go casual with flats. They are effortlessly chic, plus make incredible gifts!

It’s hard to go wrong with a good striped tee. I love this one not only because it’s super soft and quality cotton, but for the unexpected color combo of olive and cornflower blue.

There’s nothing more quintessentially Fall than plaid! But I’m fussy about my plaids, and always lean towards the feminine combos and fit (no offense to lumberjacks, but I’m not trying to be one!). I love the red and navy combo of this plaid, and the soft, drapey fit of the material. It’s relaxed and effortless, with an easy fit.

Pretend I’m wearing the proper undergarment…and focus on this perfect little cami! So fun worn alone for a night out, but the cutest layer under blazers and moto jackets, too. I love the added ruffle for a feminine detail, and the adjustable straps ensure a good fit. It comes in several colors, and is a great year-round staple.

Just to prove my point, I layered the fun ruffle cami under this moto jacket. I actually have this jacket in brown from several seasons ago… it’s a fave because of the flattering, feminine fit, and quality faux-leather. I love the shrunken fit and cropped length for pairing with dresses and skirts, too.

This pretty little top is wearable year-round, but especially good for this transitional season. Pair it with jeans, or dress it up for work… the peplum, flutter sleeve, and lace detail make it special however you style it.

I could do an entire post on tunics…I’m that passionate about them! But when you spend half your season wearing leggings, tunics are a necessity! (Remember: cover your lady bits, ladies!) This easy pullover tunic is crazy-soft and a medium weight for cooler days. It fully covers the bum, and would be so cute layered over a collared shirt for a pop of color around the face.

Another great tunic sweater, and this one a favorite find of the month! It seemed a little thin on the hanger, but felt incredible on! Not thin or sheer, but also not overly heavy or bulky…it’s crazy soft with an oversized, yet relaxed, neck. It’s long enough for leggings, with a great side slit, and comes in several fun colors. Definitely a top 5 of the post!

Everyone’s favorite fleece pullover is now available in a fun new leopard! This one isn’t quite as soft as the solid colors, but so fun and easy to wear. Size up to wear with leggings, or pair with a bralette and let it slip off your shoulder.

Now that I’m officially a college mom, I love looking for game day gear. This tee and sweatshirt is so fun because it applies to literally any sport or activity!! Wear it to little league, tailgates, pro football… everything! The cotton tee is extra soft, and the sweatshirt is so warm and cozy!

This zippered jacket was a surprise find… the quality is really nice (it feels on par with a North Face!), and I love the contrasting colors! It’s crazy soft and warm, but not overly bulky.

I found a few workwear pieces that are perfect for multi-season… starting with this sleeveless top in a gorgeous Fall hue. It’s a soft, crepey material with good drape, and has the sweetest ruffle trim. It looks great worn out with jeans, or tucked into trousers and skirts. I’ve paired it with stretchy high-waist pants for a classic and flattering silhouette.

Another fun top for work and weekend, I love the print and colors of this long sleeve. It’s silky soft with an elastic band for a bracelet sleeve, and can be worn buttoned and tied at the neck, or open. It’s a flowy shape, and looks cute worn out with jeans, too.

But one of the stand-out finds for me this month are these pants!! The best-fitting knit trouser I’ve found this season! They’re thick and stretchy, so they feel almost like leggings, yet fit like a classic trouser. They have belt loops, slit pockets on the back, and the side pockets lie flat so there’s no additional bulk. They have some sort of magical way of forming to your figure, and are incredibly flattering!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS top and reg 0 pant, but would size up for a more relaxed fit through the bum and thighs.

Let’s chat pajamas… I found these two cute stripes. One a pullover style that feels like cozy, sweatshirt material, and the other a lightweight brushed flannel.

After a bit of a dry spell, Old Navy is BACK and killing it right now!! Starting with this easy-to-wear henley shirt. Soft and stretchy with a subtle ribbing, it’s a flattering fit and perfect layer for so many combos.

The other standout is the rockstar mid-rise jeans! They are an amazing fit, with lots of stretch and no gaping in the waistband. The key is getting the fit right…I sized up, and went with a petite for an ankle length. These are 4P.

Where Old Navy really excels in the Fall category is plaids and quilted vests! I think I have this vest in almost every color… I collect new ones every year. I love the soft pink of this one, and how it adds a feminine touch to outfits. It’s also a light layer that doesn’t add bulk. The plaid is a super-soft brushed flannel, and tunic length for leggings.

Another darling shirt… same soft brushed flannel, but in a more slim fit (not tunic length). I love the mustard and pink combo of this gingham, and of course it’s darling with the quilted vest! Would you believe the slides are Old Navy, too? Yep…head-to-toe! The insole isn’t padded, but I love the simple silhouette and almond toe.

This sherpa vest sold out in a hot second last year, which meant I could never wear it!! (Y’all don’t like when I wear things you can’t get!) So I’m super excited to see it back this year, and fingers crossed for good stock! It’s crazy-good quality, a thick and soft sherpa with faux-leather trim. I layered it over a classic black watch plaid in the same soft, brushed flannel.

Smitten doesn’t even begin to describe my feelings for this colorblock sweater! It’s crazy soft and a stretchy, medium weight. The colors are darling and so flattering on all skin tones.

Loft didn’t disappoint either, and I found some great closet basics, and this darling work-ready style. I love the deep eggplant hue of this fun pattern and tweed skirt. The blouse has a silky feel with flutter sleeves and sweet buttons on the back.

The skirt is fully-lined with exposed zippers for a touch of edginess.

This open front cardigan is super soft, with no buttons or pockets for added bulk. It falls to the hip, so not quite long enough for leggings, but a great length for jeans. I love this soft oatmeal color, too.

Another cardigan, this one a longer vest-style with the best neutral shades for Fall. It’s soft with a slight shawl collar, pockets, and a longer length to fully cover the bum.

And finally, one last stripe to end our post! I love this color combo of gray, camel, and lilac, and the sweater is soft and stretchy in a great medium weight.
