It’s Hump Day again…and yes, I’m still saying it like the camel in this commercial. Well, attempting to say it like the camel. According to my son, I’m not even close, and to his horror, I just keep saying it. I don’t know when I became an embarrassing parent, but it’s happened. I’m sure my unnatural love of washi tape, and need to put it on everything in sight, has nothing to do with it.
“Really, Mom…you put that stuff on the keyboard, too!?!?!”
For my Washi Tape Projects feature in the Dallas Morning News, they sent me a big box of the colorful tapes. Which was, obviously, amazing. But it also meant I needed a new spot to store them all. I love seeing all the bright colors, so I opted for this wide-mouth clear jar.
And of course, I monogrammed it…because that’s another of my obsessive needs. I created the monogram using the same method as my Etched Jar.
But instead of etching cream, I used craft paint to fill in the letters. It took several coats to get an opaque finish. Since the paint dries between coats, be careful when removing the stencil so it doesn’t peel any paint with it.
Then I covered the jar lid with washi for more color.
Now all my tapes are in one cute little spot. And since it’s a gallon-sized jar, I’ve got lots of room for collecting more!!! Muahahahahahaha!
You’re looking for a jar to monogram now, aren’t you? Just think of all the stuff you could stash in pretty jars like these! And such a cute gift, don’t you think? I’d like one filled with cookies.
Super cute project. Love anything monogrammed!!
Adorable! Now you have me looking around my house to see what I can monogram!
2. I KNOW!! Like what?! I haven't gone back to see but I have this vague feeling that they showed that lumberjack scene at the very beginning of the season. I could be totally wrong but when I saw it I just felt like it was deja vu. But seriously. I have so many questions. Won't they wonder where Deb's body went at the hospital? Why was no one concerned where Harrison was?? And there's no way he could have survived that storm.
That jar is soooooooooooo cute!!!!!! Love it. You are a washi tape master.
I'm so jealous of your washi tape collection!!
The Dexter writers totally phoned it in, the finale was beyond awful. Just horrible. I mean, the show went in the toilet after Rita died (hello, Julia Stiles was terrible)…but this, this was a whole new level of stupid.
I can only hold out hope for Breaking Bad, they can't let us down!
I LOVE those jars from Target! I'm currently working them into my kitchen for ingredient storage (flour, sugar, bread crumbs).
Also, right now, Target has sets of washi tape on clearence for under $3!
WHAT??? Target here I come!
Love that camel. On vacation, we visited an animal park, there was a camel, it was Hump Day…it was EPIC! đŸ™‚ Love that it makes the kids giggle and roll their eyes – Gahhaha!
I was so disappointed in the Dexter finale!
I found this article online that explains how one of the former executive producers on the show thought it should end:
http://www.businessinsider.com/dexter-series-finale-how-it-should-have-ended-2013-9
That would have been a WAY better ending!
I LOVE that ending!!! My husband thought he should have made the interrogation room at the police station a kill room, and taken Saxon out in front of everyone. I think he should have been found out at the end. Why didn't they ask us?! đŸ˜‰
Miss Cassie, you had me at "monogram"! LOVE it! What a cute way to store your washi tape! Hope you are having a wonderful week, girl!
~Abby =)
Thanks, Abby — you, too!! xo
