Hi Sugarplum!

Simple Fall Mantel

September 24, 2013

There has been talk of Fall all over blogland for weeks, but since we’ve still been pool-side every weekend, I wasn’t exactly ready to dive in to the new season. (See what I did there? #punny) Then all of a sudden, we woke up to 60-degrees, and just like that, it’s Fall. Granted, we’re still in the high-80s by mid-day, but the cool morning means real Fall is around the corner. So I pulled out some decor, and changed up the mantel a bit.

Hi Sugarplum | Simple Fall Mantel

Halloween is big around here (see projects here), so I only use a few small touches for Fall….and the mantel is always an easy spot. I rounded up some glass vases and hurricanes, and filled them with Fall branches and pine cones, then tied burlap ribbon around the glass.

I love the natural elements and textures of Fall, and combining them with shiny metallics.

The other side of the mantel is balanced with a cluster of candlesticks, and a big bowl of pine cones and rattan pumpkins.

I may not be sipping a Pumpkin Spice Latte yet, but thanks to a little decor switch-up and air-conditioning, it’s looking and feeling like Fall in here! Are you decorating for Fall? Does it even feel like Fall where you are?

Here’s a few links for projects seen in this post:
Fall Projects | Upholstered Barrel Chair | Live & Laugh Pillow | Painted Brick Fireplace | Black Mantel | Mirror Makeover

Excited to share this mantel with my friend Sarah over at Thrifty Décor Chick

And I just have to spread the word about an amazing opportunity from my friend Sheaffer at Pinterest Told Me To. She has partnered with Ann Taylor Loft to gift one amazing mom of a child with special needs a $500 shopping spree!! Isn’t that the absolute coolest!?! Such an awesome way to honor a deserving mother.

You are right…fall has arrived. In Southwest Virginia, we had only a brief summer this year! I love the simplicity of your mantle and the natural elements you've included.

I love your mantel and that mirror rocks! It's still warm here, but the faux glow of my led lights and a/c make it feel a bit like fall. And, I mean a teeny bit since my kids went swimming tonight!

It looks very pretty Cassie! Love the Fall branches, cheery yellow and the burlap touches. We're still having warm temps here and I'm chomping at the bit to bust out the boots and scarves. That is a wonderful opportunity your friend Scheaffer has….great cause!
