Happy, happy Friday! It also happens to be Moving Day for us…never mind that the new house is still under construction, and littered with paint samples. But I don’t even care…I’m just excited to finally live there! #poetanddidntknowit
I’ve stopped by the house every day after work for a month, and it gets harder to leave each time, as more of my heart is invested there. Hopefully that makes leaving our old house a little easier. Our goal was to get the messiest and stinkiest projects (new floors and sprayed cabinets) complete before moving in…and we made it! Barely.
Last weekend, Mr. SP and I snuck out for an early Valentines date night…before the moving pandemonium kicked in. He said to go casual, but I thought he needed to see me in something other than the paint-splattered yoga pants I’ve been living in every weekend.
Remember I styled this dress two ways last week? It was a chilly night, so I went with the leopard jacket…but next time I’ll pair it with these leopard heels. It’d be super cute with black booties and a moto jacket, too. The shape of the dress says sweet, but the brushstroke pattern says edgy, so the options are endless.
Mr. Sugarplum is one of those good-at-everything kind of guys…especially when it comes to sports. It’s swoon-worthy, and a little annoying. 😉 His weekend activities usually revolve around athletics, as does his style. But don’t be fooled into thinking he’s all ‘guys-guy’…the man’s shoe collection rivals mine! I think he chose this latest pair of Nikes because they represented his beloved San Francisco Giants!
We are different in a lot of ways, but God knew he’s exactly what I needed. I’ve loved this man for 20 years. Even when he acts like he’s going to push me in the pond.
He’s so sweet though, once he saw I was dressed-up, he offered to
change before we went out…but I love his sporty style. Especially since much of his
active wear he gets from Nordstrom…it’s so street-stylish, you’d never
know it was meant for sports.
Is your guy annoyingly athletic? What’s his date night style? Happy weekend, lovebugs!
***This post was written in collaboration with Nordstrom, but all opinions, outfits, and husband-gazing are my own. Thank you for supporting Hi Sugarplum sponsors!***
That dress looks great on you! Love it paired with the leopard coat!
You are too funny! I love that this is your casual date night! You look gorge! Your hubby is adorable! Good luck with the move!
cute dress! xo jillian – cornflake dreams
You guys are too cute!! Good luck moving today!!
Love your style and his shoes….Madison Bumgarner lives in my county. Or I guess I should say…I live in his county..lol
My husband is so jealous! MadBum is his man-crush! 😉
You guys could not be any more cute!! Seriously…I just think you're the world's cutest couple :). Happy Friday!
So cute! I love that dress with those heels. It's clear you two are in love. 🙂
How cute are you guys! I love seeing couples who have been married for so long still be SO IN LOVE! It's so very, very refreshing!
Cute! Who took the pictures out on your date?
I like having the links to outfits, but unfortunately, many times the items are unavailable (this time, the dress). Bummer.
Thank you! Our son is typically the photographer. There's a lot of sighing and eye-rolling, but he gets it done. 😉 I hate when items sell out, too, but I know people want direct links if available. I usually shop discounts and sales, too, so those items sell out faster.
Adorable!!!! Also curious who takes your pics? No big deal, just something I have wondered about in the past, and now this post brought it to light again. So nice that Mr. SP is swoon worthy in the sports department. I really appreciate the courage you have to "show off" your guy in bloghand. Many people are quick to criticize anything that may come across as a humble brag, but you handle it well. Props to you…it is not easy putting your life out there for all to find fault. Honestly, like you said before how is this your life??? Good for you! Others just cannot be as fortunate, no matter how hard they try. It just how life is, I guess. Proud of all your accomplishments for sure.
my guy's style?? what style? last party we went to he actually had on a nice golf shirt with nicer shorts but then put on cycling socks with eyeballs and his new neon green sneakers (unavoidable to notice since they're size 13). y'all are too cute. (come help us dress ourselves.)
Such a cute post, but I could do without the affiliate/sponsored links…I have seen far too many blogs go in this direction. Sadly, it has become a business now instead of a fun hobby. I know it is your prerogative to want to make money and get some free things, but it is becoming a turn off. I am so sorry because I really like your style.
Thanks for your comment and honesty, Anon. I've been doing Fashion posts since starting this blog almost 5 years ago…and readers always request links to items, or similar items, so I've started including them as well. True, on some I do earn a commission, but a lot of time and work goes in to the posts, so it's no different than a sales person in a store earning a commission for their time and work. It does not impact my selections though…and you can find my full disclosure policy in the 'Press' page. Have a great week!
Love the statement necklace!

Floors?! Don't tease a gal who owns a floor covering store! So glad you took a break for a date, super cute as usual, now show me the floors😀
Cassie I love your style! When my husband and I go out (last night as well) I am usually way over dressed compared to him. But I have to say I love his style and I think he looks funny in dressy clothes. So it works! It's better to just be yourself and comfortable, same for guys too!
Hi Cassie! Just found you from Eclectically Vintage. I adore you style and fun attitude! What a darling couple you make. Yes, God does know best!!! You are now on my blogroll!
You two are an adorable couple! I know you live in Texas, right?, but when I saw the pictures which I am assuming were taken at the restaurant, for just second, I thought you were here in Alabama! It looks exactly like a place we have in Birmingham, at the Summit, called The Tavern. Anyway, love your style. Have fun in the move!
Yes, ma'am…taken in Texas. 🙂 xo
Oh my word. How cute are you two lovebirds?? Hope the move is going well! 🙂
the dress is so cute! love it!

Where is your leopard coat from? It looks more lighter weight than the ones you linked to.
It's from the BP dept of Nordstrom…I posted it when I first bought it, but it's since sold out. 🙁 I linked a few other options. They are all faux, so not too heavy. xo
