Cocoa & Cocktails

Oh hey, it’s Monday. But you won’t find me grumbling today, seeing as how I’m currently boarding a ship to sail the Caribbean with HGTV and the Property Brothers! #brat #sorrynotsorry It’s set to be a jam-packed week of fun and adventures, so be sure to follow along on Instagram or Facebook! I can’t wait to report back to you guys!

Today we’re getting a little festive, and gearing up for a fun holiday season ahead. Kirkland’s sent me a surprise gift package featuring items from their Majestic Metallics Collection, and challenged me to style an area of our home. I was a little hesitant because Kirkland’s doesn’t typically fit my style, but after checking out their new Christmasland, I was fully onboard!

As soon as I found these moscow mule mugs (yes! from Kirkland’s!! #whoknew), I instantly thought of a Cocoa & Cocktails party!

Hi Sugarplum | Cocoa & Cocktails Party

One of the reasons we bought this new house was the extra space it afforded us for hosting friends and family. But I tend to get tied up about entertaining, and worry about what to serve and all my unfinished rooms! I finally threw those hang-ups out this Summer, and we started inviting friends over more regularly.

I found I cherish opening my home to people I love, and it doesn’t take much effort to make people feel special! A few extra touches here and there, and in my case, snacks from the grocery store, and we’re ready to host!

Using items I already had, and a few new things from Kirkland’s, I quickly and easily threw together an outdoor Cocoa Station for the kids, and a Mimosa Bar for the moms and dads.

Those battery-operated lights are genius…you can place them anywhere with no cords! And the bow-tying skills are courtesy of my aunt!

We won’t put the tree up until after Thanksgiving, but with some key-placed pillows and throws, and a few classic decor items from Kirkland’s Christmasland, the house was feeling a little more festive.

The hardest part was holding back this cutie and her friends until after I’d shot it for you guys. Fortunately the weather is still nice, and they were able to run all that sugar off outside!

There is a Kirkland's store around the corner from me, and I've never been in it. Now I may have to stop a take a look! I love the Clear Glass Lantern. The picture online has them grouped in 3, but I think I would love to put them all over!
