Amazon Fashion Finds | April

Cheers to Friday, friends, and the weekend ahead! It’s a big one for us…Senior Prom is tomorrow, the last big hoorah before graduation! The school year is really flying now, and it won’t be long before life really changes for us. I do find myself getting more excited than anxious about our future though! Little by little, anyway.

On Sunday, Team Sugarplum (aka, Mr. SP, Mama Sugarplum, and myself!) are jetting off to sunny California to shoot our next Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Collection!! I still can’t believe I’m writing those words again. We’ve been hard at work for months working on this brand new Collection, and I can’t wait to share all the who-what-when with you.

Today I’m excited to share a new month of Amazon Fashion Finds! I started these last July, and they quickly become reader-faves, and even though it takes intense digging to find the good stuff, I love the challenge of discovering such gems!

In fact, this month’s post is a little delayed simply because it took several orders to find pieces worthy of sharing and recommending. Because remember, I’d never share anything with you that I wouldn’t wear myself, or recommend to my best friend!

But my digging and patience paid off, and this month is a fun one, with amazing finds for the new season. Here is the best of the batch…

Sidenote: If you’d like to see more of these Amazon posts, please consider not shopping via the Amazon app when on your phone/tablet. Not only does it not credit the sale to me (so only Amazon benefits), but it keeps me from seeing what you like most! Thank you for considering this option.

Let’s kick-off this month’s fashion finds with dresses…starting with this colorful, fun sundress. This was a Mr. SP fave…something about how the smocking fits up top!? #dontask I love the little ruffle trim and buttoned skirt. Plus, it’s soft and breezy, and even has pockets!!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small, but only size up if you’re busty.

Abstract Sundress | Sandals

This dress was the biggest surprise of the batch, and significantly cuter in person than this image depicts. Like, seriously cute! It’s lightweight and crisp, with smocking at the top and stretchy cap sleeves. So cute for concerts and day dates, too.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small

Tiered Maxi Dress | Sandals | Rattan Earrings

Obviously I was drawn to these colorful stripes! I love the alternating direction for a slimming effect at the waist, and the buttons and pockets are a cute detail. It’s a poly-blend with a touch of stretch, and good flow. It’d be so cute with a brown belt and wedges!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small

Colorful Striped Sundress | Sandals

Similar dress, but no pockets. Love the seersucker style of the blue stripes, and the longer length. This dress isn’t going to win any quality contests, but definitely a fun Summer sundress.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small, but size up two if you’re busty

Striped Sundress | Sandals

This brand continues to impress me, especially for work-ready styles. The dress is a thick ponte knit with a twist-front that both conceals the mid-section, and creates a slimmer waistline. It’s fitted through the torso, and falls away from the body a bit in the skirt. I love this tulip print, but it comes in 8 colors/patterns.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Size 2

Twist Front Dress | Wedges

I actually shared this dress in a previous Amazon Fashion Find, but loved it so much I had to try the white for Spring. It really is such a great dress for the money, and so versatile for so many occasions! Add block heels for work, jewels and heels for a night out, or even flat sandals for day. It’s a thick boucle with fun fringe trim and an easy shift fit.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small, but only size up if you’re in-between.

Shift Dress | Wedges

I’m cuckoo for these stripes, and love the faux-wrap style with flirty hem. It’s a tad short for my comfort zone for everyday wear, but I’d love it for vacation (just stick to flat sandals!). The material is light and crisp, with a silky finish.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small

Striped Wrap-Style Dress | Sandals | Rattan Earrings

This dress is not my usual style, but I couldn’t help but love it! Definitely a little short, but would be adorable as a pool or beach dress! I love the tiers and balloon sleeve. It’s crisp and lightweight.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small for a little more length

Tiered Mini Dress | Earrings | Sandals

Remember that $20 skirt y’all went absolutely crazy for last year? It now comes in some of the cutest prints for Spring and Summer…including this bold floral! Love the mix of pink and red, the beautiful box pleats, and of course pockets! Could easily be dressed up with heels, or just as darling with a t-shirt and sandals.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small, but really wish they had an XS. So true to size. This pattern is A-White Rose

Floral Skirt | Tank | Wedges

We’re finally starting to see some shorts, and after trying a whole slew of them, these more than passed the test! The pull-on style is so comfortable, but the material thick and substantial. The inseam is a great, mid-length, too.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an X-Small

Striped Short | Tank | Sandals

Let’s move along to tops…my darling friend Megan found this ‘Good Vibes’ tank, and I had to grab one for myself! It’s made of the best quality cotton, and instantly feels like your favorite tee you’ve owned for years. I love the retro ringer-style tee, and the relaxed-fit tank.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small in both, but would prefer an XS in the tank.

‘Good Vibes’ Tee | ‘Good Vibes’ Tank | Cut-Off Shorts

My fave tee (and another huge surprise!) is this color blocked tank! It’s a thick and super-stretchy cotton knit, with the cutest block of solids and stripes. I love the slightly longer length, and rounded hem for wearing tucked or out.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small

Colorblocked Tank | Cut-Off Shorts | Sandals

Every closet needs some chambray, and I’m a sucker for a popover style! This darling top is a great mid-weight, but has a slight brushed texture to it, making it almost silky to the touch. Basically, it feels amazing, and wears so well. The sleeves have a button closure, but I prefer them rolled up.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an X-Small

Chambray Tunic | Raw Hem White Jeans |  Sandals

Upon pulling it out of the wrapper, I fully-expected to send this tank back. But ended up loving it once I put it on! Like, ordered it in another color, loving it! It’s super lightweight, with a soft waffle knit finish, and a cute front tie.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small, but would prefer an XS.

Waffle Knit Tie Tank | Raw Hem White Jeans | Sandals

Okay, moving along to one of the most-popular Amazon categories…Swimwear! OHMYGOSH I tried so many this month, and I’m thrilled to have a handful worthy of sharing!!

First up, I had some requests for suits that conceal c-section scars and flatter the mid-section…and I found two!! Both have ruching through the middle and an incredibly flattering fit, as well as fully-lined and padded cups with full-coverage backsides. But both manage to be equally sassy and respectable!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small in both, I size up one in swim

V-Neck Colorblocked Swim | High-Neck Ruched Swim

This suit reminds me of something straight out of J.Crew, with the ruffled straps and sturdy lycra. It’s easily similar quality, but under $30! There’s a touch of ruching along the sides, and a cute criss-cross tie in the back. I couldn’t choose a fave color, so here it is in red and black.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small

Ruffle One-Piece

As for two-pieces, I’m recently obsessed with high-waist bottoms, and thought these were both flirty and fun options. The ruffled suit features ruched bottoms, and a supportive top. I love the pom-pom trim of the striped suit, and the bottoms fit like a glove. The top is a little close together, so depending on how you’re built, you may get a little side-boob. #sideboobclub

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a Small in both

Ruffle Two-Piece | Pom Pom Two-Piece

You can’t have a new swimsuit without a cute new cover-up! This crochet-trim is a silky, woven material, and not sheer. It comes in a ton of colors, too!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an X-Small

Crochet Swim Cover-Up

As for accessories, I’m smitten with all of these earrings! The palm and rattan are great neutrals and light as a feather, and the beaded drops a great statement and surprisingly light, too.

Palm Leaf Acrylic | Rattan Circle | Beaded Drop Earrings

So many fun finds this month, right? As for the most popular from our Amazon Fashion Finds of March, these were the top 5:

V-Neck Dress / So chic, yet feels like pjs!
Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans / Perfect mid-rise & lots of stretch
Crewneck Maxi Dress / One of my all-time fave Amazon finds!
Printed Pajamas / So many darling patterns & prints
‘Love’ Bracelet / Amazing lookalike for $20!

As for other finds, this tote is on the way to me, as well as a new color in my fave beach hat. This curling iron just replaced my ‘fancy’ one as my new favorite, and this popular top is finally back in stock!

I always appreciate a good Amazon try-on. I have the waffle knit tie-front style in a long sleeve shirt and love it. I would like to order the sleeveless version of it, but am worried about arm holes that are too big (I need XL due to chest size). Should I size up?

    Posted 4.26.19 Reply
    • Cassie wrote:

No, I would prefer a smaller size…especially for the armhole situation. I think the fabric has enough give for the chest, so I’d stick with true to size.

Perfect timing! I’m going on vacation in 3 weeks down south (Cuba baby!) and I needed some new sun dresses. Just ordered three on amazon! Fun fact for your Canadian subscribers, you can look up the names of the amazon finds in Amazon.ca instead (if you’re lucky, the item will be there). The price might be a little higher than the American site BUT shipping will be a hell of a lot cheaper and things will arrive faster (I just checked the difference in price for fun, my US Amazon cart said 162$ CAD (that’s after shipping and exchange rate) and 103$ CAD on the Canadian site (I even upgraded the shipping for faster delivery and I’m still saving 60 bucks….nothing to sneer at if you ask me). Thanks for the wonderful finds as usual!

Hi Cassie! LOVE all of your posts like this! Just ordered the darling skirt to wear this summer in lieu of shorts. Ordered three- the floral one you show, one that looks like a London skyline and a black and white polka dot. Hopefully they’ll look as darling on me as they do on you! You always look so fabulous! 🙂 By the way- enjoy this bittersweet time with your son. My son graduated from high school last year and I feel your mix of sadness and happiness! It’s a very bittersweet time. But make sure you take the time to absorb everything going on. It really is a special time for all of you. Good luck!

I’m loving that ruffle one piece suit. Can you tell me if the bust is very supportive? Is this something that would work on bustier gals?

    • Cassie wrote:

That’s tricky to say for sure, but the cups are lined and padded, and there’s a supportive band of fabric under the chest. It’s also adjustable through the tie in the back, so you could lock and load pretty good! 😉

Love your Amazon finds. However, at my age (67) most wouldn’t work for me. Would love to see a few more tunic type tops and items to hide the tummy.

So many cute finds! I love that Amazon has everything! If you wouldn’t mind, going forward could you say whether these pieces would work for us taller girls? I’m 5’8″ and some of these pieces might be too short. Have a great weekend!

Thanks Addison!! I’m 5’4″ with a long torso, so hopefully that gives you an idea of where things would fall on your taller (lucky!) frame! xo

I’m 4 months pregnant and already hate 98% of maternity clothes. Took a shot on the first sundress and the black ruched swimsuit and they will both work through at least 7 months. So excited! The swimsuit is amazing – I don’t look pregnant at all from the front.
