{20 Questions} Honey We’re Home

My friendship with Megan is one of the best things to come out of blogging. I remember the night I checked my email, and found 27 comments from the same person…I had about 10 followers at the time, so that was a really big deal! I checked out her blog, and instantly felt connected to her. She was the first person I crossed the virtual-friend-line with (see our first blog-date here), and now she’s no longer my online-blogger-friend, but my friend. In fact, she and her son are visiting us at the beach this week….so I thought it was appropriate to kick off this next round of {20 Questions} with the adorable Honey We’re Home (and Honey We’re Healthy!)

20 questions Megan

What is your road trip essential snack?
Does Starbuck’s “iced tall 2-pump mocha, no whip” qualify as a snack? I order it so often my 3-year old son can order it for me.

What was your high school jam?

I definitely remember “You Can’t Touch This” and “You Give Love a Bad Name.”  Don’t we all remember that opening line “Shot through the heart . . . ” I was also crazy for Poison and Bret Michaels so it’s hard to narrow it down- Talk Dirty to Me 🙂

Would you rather have a perfect bum, or a flawless face?

Face for sure. But the bum is one body part that always gets a big workout at the gym.

What shows are you ashamed to admit are on your DVR?

Real Housewives of Everything.  I especially love the OC and New Jersey crews.  I can’t watch the reunion shows though where it’s almost all fighting and screaming at each other.

What’s your ringtone?

I downloaded ‘Blurred Lines’, but haven’t connected my phone to the computer yet, so it’s still the same boring one.

How old were you when you had your first kiss? Was it meh or toe-curling?

6th grade, Robbie Merkle, french kiss.  It was mostly weird and I kept thinking, “WE’RE FRENCH KISSING RIGHT NOW!!!”

Do you have any siblings, and if so, where are you in the birth order?

I’m the oldest of two brothers and they are 6 and 12 years younger than me.  I still think my youngest brother is 6 because that’s how old he was when I moved out and and I can’t believe he’s 26 and a dad now!

What physical quirk were you born with?
Two cowlicks right in the front of my hairline. It makes having bangs nearly impossible.  Such a bummer.

What was your first car, and did you name it?
1991 Light Blue Ford Escort, with no name.  I was so proud to have worked for it and paid for it myself. I still remember the car payment was $231 a month. I’m on my 4th car now.

What would you request for your last supper?
Probably sushi with a really good bottle of wine.

Have you ever been hospitalized, and if so, what for?
I’ve had all kinds of random things- tonsils removed, stitches in my forehead, broken arm, and I was hospitalized when things went a little crazy during my son’s delivery.

How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller, shorter…or are you just right?
5’1- almost.  I’m super short, but proportionate, and I’m used to being petite.  I wouldn’t mind a few extra inches though.

Do you prefer to DIY or hire it out?
I’ll DIY small projects and crafty things, but anything major I’d definitely hire out.

What do you eat for breakfast?
I never go without breakfast and like to start my morning out healthy, so I almost always eat oatmeal with raisins, almonds, cinnamon and a little 1% milk.  To make it faster, I keep all the ingredients combined in a glass jar on my counter and just scoop it out each day. I cook it in the microwave with water for about a minute, then add some milk.

What would you do for a living if you didn’t need money?
I’d love to be a stylist or own a stationary/paperie shop.

Finish this sentence: Every room needs….
A mirror and books.

How frequently do you wash your hair? Do you have any hair secrets or tricks?
Oh gosh, almost everyday. I admire those people who can go days between washes, but that’s not me- my hair gets too greasy and I feel icky.  You’ll know if it’s “day two” for me because my hair will be up in a messy bun or pony tail.

Will you leave the house without makeup?
Yes, no problem, but I will put on at least mascara so I look alive.

You just unloaded your Halloween haul…what candy do you go for first?
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I’m mostly addicted to the ones I make at home though.  In fact, I just made some tonight!

What totally inane talent do you possess?
I can pick up things with my toes and do it all the time. It’s almost second nature:)

* * * * *

How completely adorable is she? Seriously, every time I see her I want to put her in my pocket. That sounds weird, right? What else is new. I think I’ll challenge her to a pick-up contest with our toes today…my physical quirk is likely to give me an advantage.

One last thing…my friend Sheaffer is celebrating her 1-year Blogger-versary, and to celebrate she’s giving away a $365 Nordstrom Gift Card!!! Hello…that’s huge! I can’t believe I’m lessening my changes of winning by telling ya’ll, but I’m feeling sweet today. Take advantage. And if you win, I’ll take this and this, please.

I, too, can pick up things with my toes! I've never met anyone who does this. All my friends, family, and especially my husband think it's weird. He says my toes look like fingers because they are so long. He likes to exaggerate! 🙂

I love these 20 Questions posts. I started reading Megan's blog and your blog around the same time so I feel like I've slowly gotten to know you both. Anyway, Megan is adorable, as are you. I have a crazy cowlick and I would love to have another one if it meant my hair looked as good as Megan's!

PS. I have a lot of commenting to catch up on. Evidently my browser needed updating so I haven't been able to comment on anything 🙁 So just picture a 5'8" blonde girl (who really needs her roots done) hitting herself on the forehead because she kept ignoring the little 1 on the settings app. Please tell me someone else has done that.
