Zella Girls + Teacher Gift Guide

It’s Hump Day, friends, which means we’ve officially made it to the halfway point! The weekend will be here before we know it… and since my kids have next week off, I’m counting down the minutes!

My need to have everyone home and under one roof is so strong lately, and I’m just praying it’s a smooth transition back to a family of four. I think we all need a break from the demands of the world around us right now!

Fortunately we’ve had stunning weather lately, so we’ve been able to get outside quite a bit… and Texas is showing off in the fall leaves department! Y’all loved when Little Miss joined me last month for our Zella Girl picks, so I’m thrilled she agreed to join me again.

I love this precious girl with all my heart, but man raising a teenage girl in the middle of an isolative pandemic world is not easy! I worry about her everyday, and the effects this year will have on her.

But there is also no greater joy than watching her grow and blossom. I wish I could shield her from every ounce of hurt, but have to have faith it’s just part of building her resilience, and growing her in to the woman she’s destined to be.

I have no doubt God has great things in store for her, and I feel so grateful to have a front row seat.

She had no problem choosing Zella Girl favorites from this month’s arrivals, and I’ve seen her in this combo several times already! The leggings are so soft and warm, with a high rise that doesn’t pinch or roll down.

The pullover is shearling soft (a must for her!), with a high-low hem that covers her bum (a plus for me, ha!)

Fit Tip: Zella Girl sizing is by age, and reaches 16-18… so while she can also wear a women’s XXS, I love the lower price point of the girl’s sizes. We find Zella to run true to size.

My outfit is great for being active, but also perfect for lounging! This funnel neck pullover is sweatshirt soft, in a cozy oversized fit. They call this color ‘Brown Terrain,’ but it definitely has purple undertones.

Fit Tip: It’s an oversized, relaxed fit. I’m wearing an XS.

They call these lounge leggings, and I’m so smitten with the fit and feel! They’re a cross between a live-in legging and a brushed fleece jogger… if that makes sense!

They have a wide, stretchy waistband and ankle cuffs, plus front pockets, for a bit of a jogger fit, but are fitted, stretchy, and soft like leggings. Basically the best of both worlds, and perfect for getting active or lounging at home.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS.

The best part of virtual school is the opportunity to see her more, and take mid-day breaks for lunch, walks, or a little volleyball in the driveway. Since we pretty much live in leggings these days, we’re always dressed for it!

Our state is shut down for four weeks so school has been online so far. So it’s online shopping and curbside pick up for us.
I’ve got several things coming in the mail. But my hooded tunic already arrived and I wore it yesterday. I got it in teal and love it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thank you for posting these fun ideas! I had just been thinking of teacher ideAs. I had a friend that was looking for an inexpensive Bluetooth speaker too so that was perfect.

My 3 girls (10th, 8th and 3rd) are now all back home full virtual from being at a hybrid schedule, but like you I love getting to see them more. Years go by so fast so I’m embracing this.

I love both of these looks! What a beautiful and special bond you guys have. Maine is now shutdown again and school is 100% remote in my hometown. Fingers crossed things get better soon!
