Happy hump day, friends! I’m headed home from a fun few days in Charleston with one of my favorite small shops, Social Threads! It was my first time to this beautiful, historic city, and I already can’t wait to come back for a little longer with Mr. Sugarplum!
We packed a lot of fun in to two days, plus I finally got to meet some of my long-time online friends and the Social Threads team in person! More on that soon.
I’ve had lots of packing requests for vacations and Spring Breaks, so today I’m sharing everything I packed and wore for our week in St. John, USVI. It’s a very laidback island, so lots of sundresses, swimsuits and coverups. And you know I did it all in just a carry-on!

Lots of lounging around the house, pool and beach, and a few dresses for town and dinner… easy-peasy! Our next big trip is in June, a joint grad trip for the kids, that’s taking us through Switzerland, Northern Italy, and Paris… something tells me that packing will be a little more challenging!

How do you get all of that in a carryon?
Packing cubes, and lots of packing practice!!! The carry-on duffle also holds lots of things and fits under the seat on the plane. xo, C
How do you manage to get all of your toiletries in just one quart size bag? That’s usually what drives me to a checked bag.
Hi Patti! Our family all has TSA PreCheck, so the quart-sized bag isn’t required. I’ve never had to remove my toiletries (or anything) from my bags with PreCheck. It’s my secret weapon for sure! xo, C

Hi Diane! I’ve had that quilted crossbody for a few years…it’s from Social Threads, but unfortunately, no longer available! I’m on the lookout for a similar style though!
How tall are you? It’s hard to know if items will be too long on me. I’m 5’5 and sometimes pants and dresses are way too long and not worth the expense of altering.
