If you read my Holiday Haven Guest Post on Courtney’s amazing blog, A Thoughtful Place, then you know I take off work for my kid’s entire school Winter Break. I use the two weeks to focus on my family and soak up every second with them. It’s my one chance a year to be a Stay At Home Mom!
We wander around Neiman Marcus (not touching or buying anything!) gazing at their gorgeous decor and eating warm popovers.
We watch the ice skaters at the Galleria and drink Starbucks Cocoa.
The kids always beg me to take the long way home so they can gawk at the Griswalds neighborhood lights.
Since bedtimes aren’t critical, many nights are spent having breakfast for dinner (B4D in our house) and watching movies.
It’s also a great opportunity to show my love for them in ways I don’t usually have time for…like making real dinners, baking cookies and just general wallowing on the floor together! Granted, I’ll be ready to go back to work after two weeks, but I do love having a peaceful home, smelling of dinner when Mr. Sugarplum walks in the door. Quite a change from the usual chaos of the dinner/homework/bathtime routine of a house with two working parents!
And as much as I love this blog, I’ve decided to take a break so all my attention is focused on family. “You’re always on the computer!” is a phrase I don’t want to hear much from them for two weeks! But you guys will probably love Hi Sugarplum! even better with me mostly gone…..because I have lined up an amazing series of Guest Bloggers!!
Haha, I just noticed your "leave a comment" note. š Um, 2 whole weeks of no cassie? I don't know what I'm going to do… Enjoy your time with your family my dear. š
We just had breakfast for dinner the other night! Why is it so much more fun to eat pancakes for dinner??? And Love, Actually is my absolutely FAVORITE movie to watch during the holidays… it is so so so good. I love Christmas!
Enjoy your time off and looking forward to being one of your "guests"!
