Happy Monday, friends, and welcome back to a new week. The last few days were a little rocky around here, after the announcement that online learning is extending through the end of the school year. It’s something we knew was coming, but hearing it officially was a bit deflating.
I will say though, there’s a new sense of conviction in our house now. I think (and hope) the kids are ready to just finish the year strong. As for after that, we’ll just have to wait and see!
Last month when we found out Mr. College Guy was moving home for the rest of the semester and summer, I decided to give the upstairs bonus room a bit of a facelift. It’s where the kids hang a lot, and I wanted it to feel like a cohesive space for them to enjoy, away from us.
Fortunately, I found pretty much everything we needed on Amazon… which means we didn’t spend much (it is, after all, a teen space that gets ‘well-loved’), and it arrived quickly! I’m sharing the full reveal tomorrow, but here’s the design direction.
one. Sectional Sofa  // two. Rug  //  three. Pillows  //  four. Coffee Table
five. Pouf  //  six. Rattan Tray  //  seven. Blanket Ladder
eight. Planter  //  nine. Faux Succulent Planter  //  ten. Wood Beads
eleven. Leopard Throw //  twelve. Lamp  //  thirteen. Console Table
fourteen. Woven Basket
Honestly I wasn’t expecting a lot considering the prices, but I’m actually thrilled with everything! Here’s a peek…
Come back tomorrow to see all the updates and the kid’s new bonus room! To see more great Amazon Home Finds, check out my personal store HERE. Happy Monday, lovebugs! I hope it’s a peaceful one!
The chocolate-colored pouf is going to look fantastic. I can’t wait to see the final look. It is very therapeutic to be organizing, decorating, and cleaning our homes during this time. Entertaining is a big part of our lives. Once we can welcome our family and friends again, I bet we will all entertain twice as much as we did before to make up for the lost time! xo
Hi there, When you share the reveal, would you please put in the dimensions of the room and the dimensions of the sofa you chose? I always have a hard time with appropriate size furniture so I’m trying to learn it by seeing what others do– or if there’s a magic formula that you know– please share that. Thanks much!!
I’m sharing the space tomorrow…and yes, I’ll be sure to include the specs! xo. C
Brilliant sofa! Priced right too.
Remember parents, our kids look to us for times like these. Keep being their cheerleaders. The schools, college testing companies, etc. must be cutting everyone some slack for what is going on. Time for parents and students to defend themselves if the online classes aren’t going all that well. Teachers are still heroes. Even good students struggle w/this. Stay strong everyone! Stick w/what we can control, our attitudes, keeping house and yards clean and pets happy! : )
Sorry, I got off topic.
I’m excited to see the room. I think I need to give some thought to a room change up too. We’re kind of getting into a slump around here also with not getting back to school this year …… and just all of it.
I know exactly what you mean that “hearing it is a bit deflating”. Here in Canada I’ve been taking everything one day at a time but really always secretly hoping that things will be over and normal soon. To be told that that’s not happening is hard to come to terms with. I definately had to muster up a little more intestinal fortitude this week! So comforting to know that everyone else is experiencing the same thing though.
It’s so hard, I feel so bad for the kids everywhere!
Would love to know your thoughts on the couch when it arrives! Love the price but struggle with. Using something I can see/touch 🙂
Hi Deanna! The updated room reveal with all details is on the blog today! xo, Cassie
