Fall’s Tables

So who has Look-for-Less Hunter Wellies on the way?! #me! I’m thrilled you guys loved the idea, and thanks for the tip about finding real Hunter boots at Costco! Fingers crossed for a wet Winter!

This year we’re spending Thanksgiving with some of my family in California (I shared about that forgiveness and blossoming relationship here), so we had Mr. SP’s parents over last weekend to celebrate early. My mother-in-law and I have a great arrangement…she does all the cooking, and I set the table. (Me and bird carcases are not a good mix.) I was feeling industrious, so I even threw in dessert.

I went with a colorful, yet glam vibe this year, using items I picked up from my Nate Berkus challenge. #namedropper Aren’t these lion place card holders so fun? Nate said they’ll be his go-to host gift this year. #firstnamebasisnow #toobadhedoesntknow

I found these mini-cake pedestals at Home Goods, and they had me at mini. And gold. They are perfect for, what else…mini pumpkin bundt cakes. The kids loved seeing dessert as part of the table when they sat down.

I forgot to tell them cake wasn’t the first course. Oh well, who can blame them?!

Hi Sugarplum | Fall Table
In case you’re working on your table for next week, here are a few of our past set-ups that may inspire you.

I went for simple this year, and store-bought the mini-bundts, but these are two of my favorite pumpkin recipes.

And finally, if you’re looking for a simple craft to do with the kids, this is a fun one that lets them help with creating the table.

And this was a good tip I picked up to help kids remember how to set the table. Are you gearing up for family and the holiday? Are you a table-setter, or the cook?

  1. I love the pink, gold and black combo! I'm always the table setter and the cook (lots of wine involved). I went with gold and white this year (#ontheblog), and although I think it turned out beautifully, I NEED that gold flatware. It can be my Christmas gift to myself 🙂
