Sweet & Spicy Pecans

My aunt has our entire family over every Christmas Eve for lunch…and while we love spending the day together, it’s her sweet and spicy pecans that have us all vying for invites. She serves them in a salad with green apples, but truthfully, I long to face-plant directly in the jar. I wrestled the recipe out of her, and made my own batch…with playoff football in full swing, they’ve been the perfect game-time snack.

They make a pretty cute homemade gift, as well. If you can stand to part with them. Who doesn’t love crunchy, sweet and spicy all in one pop-in-your-mouth treat?! Git in mah belly!

Sweet & Spicy Killer Pecans

Are you whipping up any great snacks, or are you all-cooked-out after the holidays?

One of my all-time favorite bloggers,  Emily A Clark, asked me to participate in her 5 Questions series. I answered last year, which means I have no recollection of what I said. Hop over there today, for my hopefully semi-intelligent and un-embarrassing answer!

We always make sugared pecans for the holidays, but this would be a nice change.

  3. yum – what else does she put on her salad besides the green apples? What dressing does she use? Can I have your Aunt's phone number so we can chat? 😉

Loved reading Emily's post this morning!

  4. The only thing I whipped up was lemon cupcakes. And that's only because I was at the Yankee Candle store and smelled a lemon cupcake candle. Dumb! 🙂

I made candied pecans the other day for a salad, I am going to try this recipe out. My hubby and daughter loves anything spicy! Early this morning I baked about 30ish chocolate cupcakes for my baby's pre-k class. He is so excited about turning 5 today! Also new follower here!

Really important to use plenty of Pam or spray canola oil on the pan or these will set like concrete and the pan will be a nightmare to clean. Would be happy to send on entire recipe if anyone wants it…it's just a wonderful, delicious salad and the dressing is great. *Cassie's aunt 🙂
