Hey there, friends! I hope you had a great weekend, and heaped lots of love on the dad-people in your life. Even though it was his day, Mr. Sugarplum still helped me with a few projects outside. My Home Depot Patio Challenge (it’s a refresh of last year’s makeover) is due this week, so we had a little sweat equity to put in this weekend. I can’t wait to show you the refreshed space in the coming weeks.
I know my Living Room has made multiple appearances on the blog lately, but with the replaccement rug breathing new life into the room, I find myself hanging out in the space a lot more. Well, that’s not entirely correct. ‘Hanging out’ indicates I’m relaxing…but in fact I’m zhushing…aka, being a rearranging busy-body. Which is pretty much my favorite pastime. The mantel was my latest victim.
Usually I keep it pretty basic, and stick with just the mantel, but I’m in a more-is-more phase, so I heaped it on and utilized the hearth, too.
I love the laid-back feeling of Summer, so I kept it casual by propping art, and using branches from the yard. Basically I did the opposite of my usual behavior, and didn’t over think it. #whataconcept
You dog-lovers wanted to know what Miss Maggie thought of the new rug….I think she likes it.
Are you a zhusher? Have you done any decor refreshes to coincide with the new season?
I'm constantly zhushing..I just didn't know how to spell it. Looks so fresh and summery!
Ha — I totally had to look it up…and my spell checker kept telling me it wasn't a word. But I disagree. 😉
my favorite mantle yet! so fresh and pretty! xo jillian – cornflake dreams
Thanks Jillian…I think it's mine, too! It will likely just stay like this until Christmas! 😉
Oh Maggie! That face! Your mantle looks so fresh and summery and has given me some ideas. I love your style. 🙂
Thanks so much, Bette! And I'm a sucker for Maggie's sweet face, too.
I love how fresh and relaxed it looks!! Perfect!
So crisp and clean. Love it!!
Looks good! I love all of the natural elements!
I love that this is so bright and summery, but not obnoxious looking 🙂 It's the perfect inspiration!
That's a feat for me…since my stuff tends to teeter on the 'obnoxious' line! 🙂
I love it! I love mixed elements like natural branches mixed with the classy gold finishes! Super pretty! I love your mirror too! Do you switch that out for different seasons?
Thanks Bekah! I love that mirror too, but don't really switch it up much. It's so heavy!!!
So beautiful and natural! You have a great eye lovie!
Just found you and LOVE your blog! Looking forward to following you!
May I ask where you bought the mirror from? I am obsessed!
Hi Megan! I found the mirror at Home Goods, but had to give it a bit of a makeover…you can find that post linked above! xo
