I’ve never totally thought of myself as a home blogger, or a DIY blogger…probably because I don’t have any design training nor own power tools. But also because I’m interested in too many things to stay true to a single niche. I guess if I had to label it, I’d be a lifestyle blogger….which basically gives me a free pass to write about whatever I want.
I figure if you stop by on a day I’m blabbing about food, and you happen to be fasting (what are you thinking?!), then you’ll just move on. Same is true for fashion….maybe you’re a nudist, or you don’t care for my style…but I love creating outfits as much as creating rooms, so I share it here. Many are shown in the {Outfit Inspiration} posts, but I thought it’d be fun to share my more casual, everyday outfits in a new series called Sugarplum Style.

As this series continues (I’ll run it every three weeks or so), you’ll see how I recycle the same affordable items over and over, yet create new looks each time. I don’t think you need a lot of clothes to have a big wardrobe. What’s your everyday style? Clearly mine involves stripes.

Funny you talked about not staying true to one niche – I was just thinking about that the other day. Some of my favorite posts to date have nothing to do with home stuff, it's the real life posts I'm most proud of…..maybe because they're part therapeutic. 😉 On another note- I have tried to buy those ding dang gold flip flops three different times in the store and they NEVER have my size – gah! Maybe I should just order them online. #smallfootproblems Love this new series friend!!
I love your personal posts, too…they make me brave to share more as well! And I adore those Old Navy flip flops…look just the like the pricey J.Crew ones…except these have a padded insole! #bonus And they don't come in half sizes, so I went up a size.

Love it. And I TOTALLY recycle the same outfits. I basically could just put out a list of 20 things each season and email it to anyone who wants to know because chances are I'm wearing it again and again.

I remember that transition…a little hard for me to find my footing with what I thought was 'appropriate' for my new 'mommy' label. But really your style doesn't have to change…you're still the same person. Our style evolves based on stages of our life, but I don't go for the 'rules' anymore. I say wear what you love and feel comfortable in!! xo

I love this series! And by the way, thank you for your post on "favorite white jeans" a few months back. I took your advise and bought them and you were spot on! They are awesome! I know it may sound shallow, but what I appreciate most are all your posts on style and fashion! You always include practical tips and offer links to affordable pieces. As a Mom of 4, it's nice to have a place like your blog to get some fashion inspiration from another Mom!

Great idea – you have the cutest everyday style! Always love your use of belts too, instantly gives a casual look a bit of polish. I have the shortest torso pretty much ever though, so belts tend to look slightly awkward on me. Unfortunate, because I'm always inspired by your use of them!
