Sugarplum Style, Vol. 45

Cheers to Friday, friends! Our Little Miss graduated from Elementary school last night, and I packed my last school lunch today!!  For three months, anyway. That alone is worth celebrating! #canIgetanamen

Today it’s time for another round of Sugarplum Style, snapshots of my everyday outfits I share on Instagram and Facebook, created by mixing and matching items in my closet. My hope is that they inspire you to stretch your wardrobe further by mixing up what you already have, and thoughtfully add new things.

Sometimes simple is best…I love the clean combo of gray and white, and as you’ll notice in this post, these jeans are favorites lately!

Fit Tip: Size down in the jeans, trust me!

Tank | Frayed Hem Jeans | Sandals | Monogrammed Bag | Sunglasses | Hoop Earrings

How can I resist seersucker bows?! This sweatshirt saw a lot of wear on my recent trip (did you catch my first recap this week?), and is darling for running around without looking like a schlep!

Bow-Sleeve Sweatshirt | Jean Shorts | Sneakers | Earrings | Sunglasses

I’ve worn this dress to everything from a pool party to school events…it’s the right amount of sassy and fun.

Ruffle Halter Dress | Tassel-Tie Sandals | Earrings | Straw Clutch | Sunglasses

This linen popover shirt is so gauzy light, I stay covered up without having a heat stroke. I love the causal, relaxed fit, too.

Striped Popover | Cropped Jeans | Strappy Sandals (also here) | Monogrammed Eyeglass Case

Hard to believe this was me just two short weeks ago! I love that every night is Date Night on a cruise, and this dress was not only chic, but left room for all the desserts.

Fit Tip: Size way down, I’m wearing an XXS petite!

Off-the-Shoulder Dress | Earrings | Sandals | Leopard Clutch

My cost-per-wear is about $1 on this top by now, I just can’t seem to stop reaching for it. It’s the weight of a long sleeve tee, and so soft. The colors and stripes are too fun to resist.

Fit Tip: I sized up to a small for a more relaxed fit.

Striped Top | Frayed Hem Jeans | Sandals | Earrings

Throwback to one of my best days ever…boating around Positano. This tank dress is darling with sneakers or sandals, but also makes a chic cover-up.

Fit Tip: I sized up to a small for less body-con fit.

Tank Dress (in stripes, too) | Hat | Sunglasses

Pink seersucker and pineapples…no wonder I carry this bag everyday! (Use code SUGARPLUM10 for 10% off.)

Jean Jacket | Denim Skirt | Monogrammed Bag | Plaid Shirt | Sunglasses

Date Night in my go-to racerback dress…this thing just always works! I’ve worn it with sandals, sneakers, flip flops and heels…and they’re all darling!

Racerback Dress | Heels | Leopard Clutch

Oh hey, rainbow striped shirt again. #shocker

Striped Top | Sandals | Similar Shorts | Hat

I was unabashedly patriotic for Memorial Day…I love this great country and am so grateful for the men and women (and their families) who sacrifice for our peace and freedom.

Striped Tee | Jean Skirt | Hat | Sneakers | Sunglasses

When you need to jazz up a bit, but you really don’t feel like it? Throw on this cold-shoulder top and statement earrings…bam!

Cold-Shoulder Top | White Jeans | Earrings

Can a girl have too much gingham? This off-the-shoulder top has the cutest tassel-ties for a little something-something extra. And these jeans again…honestly, it’s almost embarrassing how often I’ve worn them in the past two weeks.

Gingham Off-the-Shoulder Top | Frayed Hem Jeans | Sandals | Sunglasses

This romper will be in the next Dressing Room Diaries, but it was too cute not to share now! It has adjustable straps and tie-front for a custom fit…and pockets! The material is thick and sturdy too, so you don’t feel like you’re going to lose a body part.

Fit Tip: I sized up to a small for more length.

Seersucker Romper | Sandals | Hoop Earrings

These two dresses got the most attention from my last Dressing Room Diaries…see the full review here.

Striped Knit Dress | Ruffle Halter Dress

Another simple combo, but anything but boring! I adore the ruffle collar of this lightweight top, and of course I added a tassel to this straw bag!

Ruffle Collar Shirt (also available here) | Frayed Hem White Jeans | Fringe Sandals | Straw Tote | Bag Charm

That’s it for today, I hope you found some new outfit inspiration, and fresh ideas for mixing things up in your closet! We’re flying out Monday morning to meet this precious nugget, but stay tuned for a huge Summer of Style launch all next week. Happy weekend, lovebugs!

  1. Love your blue and red striped tee outfit – good thinking on matching it with white Converse! Gotta try that one day!

  4. As always, I get to the bottom of a post like this and ever other picture my favorite outfit or piece has changed and I can’t pick just one. Loved the black top with the ruffled collar in the first photo, the bow sleeve sweater, that polka dot halter dress with the ruffle at the bottom – so cute! I also really love your white denim skirt with the rough hem. I just love your style! Have such a fun weekend!

I especially love the white jeans. I was looking at getting the Articles of Society Carly Frayed Hem white jeans, are you wearing a size 25 or 26? Do they stretch out a lot or hold their shape?
