Sugarplum Christmas | 2015 Home Tour

Hello friends, and welcome to Christmas in our home! I’ve been sharing bits and pieces of our house decked-out for the holiday over the last few weeks, but today I’ve got it all in one spot…plus all the other rooms you haven’t seen yet! This is actually my first Home Tour in the new house, so I’m pretty excited to have so many spaces rounded-up in a single post.

We’ve had our decor up for a few weeks, so we’re in a full blown Christmas frenzy now….we’re talking Griswald proportions! Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but I’m prone to it. I’ll let the overload of photos do most of the talking…so pour yourself some cocoa, spike it if your boss isn’t looking, and poke around our house…I promise I won’t report you as a stalker.

I’ve tried to link as many items below each photo as possible, but let me know in the comments if I overlooked something you want more details on.

The great debate for this new house, was where to put the Christmas tree! We were a house divided, but in the end, I think we came to a great compromise…in the Foyer/Dining Room, where it can be seen from all the living areas downstairs, as well as from the street. Come on in and see for yourself!

Our last few Christmases have been really colorful, with bright, color-blocked trees, but for some reason, this new house has me feeling traditional. With a touch of glam, of course. So we adorned the tree with grapevine garland, disco balls, striped bows, and sentimental ornaments. No real theme, other than to make it special to us.

I’m savoring every second of this holiday with Little Miss, while she still believes in the magic of Christmas.

The tree skirt might be my favorite part. I’ve been lusting over it for years (even made my own DIY version of one!). For the record, the real-deal is world’s better! #duh

We had a fair amount of drama associated with mounting the TV, but in the end, I got an outlet for the mantel garland, so I guess it worked out. 😉

Come Christmas Eve night, you’ll find us all curled up by the fire reading our favorite holiday story.

This is probably my favorite view…maybe it has something to do with the fact I’m laid out on the couch at the time. (See our Christmas Tree here and decorated Dining Room here.)

I hated the thought of our old tree sitting in the garage all season, so we plopped her in the Master Bedroom, plugged it in, and considered it done. Something so magical about the simplicity, don’t you think?

Upstairs we added a few small touches to make the kid’s area more festive.

I spend most of my time in the Kitchen, plus it’s visible from the main living areas, so I sprinkled a little holiday spirit around there, too.

The screened-porch was treated to a Cocoa Station.

Wow, if you made it through this tour without a drink refill, you’re a stronger person than me! You deserve a cookie, or something! 😉

It really is the most wonderful time of the year! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and every day! Or the days when you do stop by, thanks for those. Unless today is the first day you’ve ever stopped by, in which case, welcome, and thank you. I’m loopy…someone spiked my cocoa!

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I love how you incorporate non traditional Christmas colors in and make it look so beautiful. I have to ask…what do you do with all those handmade kid ornaments, ornaments gifted to you, and ornaments passed down from generations? Our tree is primarily that! I have been wanting to do my own tree for a few years now, I just haven't gotten around to buying one, and now our np main one reLly needs to be replaced, so it probably won't be this year either!

Hi Cassie! I hope you find this comment since it is now May 2016! I just had to tell you that THIS was the first post of yours that I had ever seen and what introduced me to your beautiful little slice of blogland. I stumbled across it while looking at Christmas tours and was instantly drawn in by your fearless use of colors and pattern. Not to mention that our dining tables were almost exactly the same, from all the PB deer right down to the black and white striped candles! Your blog is now one of the first things I check when I turn on the laptop in the morning; it has become a bit of a rabbit hole for me, as I love exploring your old posts as well and sometimes end up spending way too much time in front of the computer! Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hi, and thanks for the eye candy and inspiration!

Beautiful decor! I love the grey in your dining room and common areas. Can you tell me what brand/color that was? Enjoying your blog… I found you through the Container Store site on your closet makeover which was GORGEOUS. Working on mine now!

Thanks so much!! Our main house color is Sherwin Williams Repose Gray. I do suggest sampling it first though, bc it can read a little blue. xo
