Halloween is a much-loved holiday around the Sugarplum house. I’d like to say it’s because our kids are at prime trick-or-treating age, but the Mister and I love it just as much. It’s always a fun night hanging out with all the neighbors, and seeing the creative costumes.
We usually have friends over to eat and celebrate before going out, so I like to have a little decor sprinkled around the house. Command Brand recently released a new line of party products (found online, or in the party aisle at your local WalMart), and I couldn’t wait to see them in action. Let’s just call them game-changers, shall we?! (Sidenote: my How to Hide Lamp Cords using Command hooks remains my most popular post…so clearly we all love those little gems!)
World Market is always my favorite spot for finding stylish Halloween decor that’s not too gory or kitschy. I was drawn to the Dia de los Muertos collection because of all the color. I also have a thing for Mexican-style decor (as evidenced by our Pool Bathroom). Some of these things I’d use year-round!
The Balloon Buncher is pure genius…just blow up regular latex balloons (no helium necessary!), and slide them into each buncher, and press on the wall! After the party, they come right off!
I used several to make a wall of balloons as a backdrop to the drink station.
A dancing sugar skull hangs from a ceiling clip nearby. Imagine the possibilities now that we can hang party decor from the ceiling (from clear hooks no less, as opposed to tape that always falls down)…like a large cluster of tissue poofs over a table.
For the drink station, I simply placed a tray found at Home Goods on our DIY Gold Barcart, and loaded it up with drinks, cups and straws. And a few festive nutcrackers.
The table is draped with striped fabric, and decorated with assorted candles and dishes, and a cob-web table runner is attached to the light. The shadows it makes at night are a fun touch.
Hanging banners and garland are a cinch with the Banner Anchors…just attach the anchor to the wall, and loop the string around it. Genius, right!?!
And when we’re done, everything comes down easily without damaging the walls! Thanks Command for getting this party started!! Who knew Halloween could look so chic!? What have you got planned for trick-or-treat night? How do you guys handle the trick-or-treating with your kids versus staying home to pass out candy dilemna?
** This post is written in collaboration with Command Brand products. All opinions and creatives are my own. Always. Thank you for supporting Hi Sugarplum sponsors! **

Oh, how many times have I strung three balloons together and struggled to attach them to the wall somewhere? Those bunchers look great. Super cute party!
Right!!?? I'm so excited about the new options these present!!
You need to quit your job and be a party styler (stylist? planner?) Ha! Looks so great!
Ha!! Do you know anyone hiring a party styler/stylist/planner??!! š Sounds like a dream job to me!
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! I had no idea Command made all these party things! We're having my daughter's first birthday in a party room at a country club, so I can't put tape everywhere or make holes in the wall to decorate. I am putting these on my must-buy list asap!
You will LOVE these new products…so perfect for putting together a party quickly and easily! Happy first birthday to your sweetie pie! xo
Love what you did with your pendant the most Cassie!
Thanks, friend!! What you don't see, are the two pair of sunglasses hanging on the back of it to keep it level! š #tricky
LOVE LOVE LOVE this! We hosted a Halloween party every year, but with this crazy reno we needed a time out. After seeing this though I kinda want to have another one!

Oh….my….goodness! Those hooks are pure genius! Thanks for sharing….and your decor is adorable as always!
Oh my goodness, this is a household of cuteness!!! Seriously, you have the most adorable projects ever. I love that the decor isn't strictly orange and black tooā¦it flows with your home which is nice!!
You are the sweetest, Taylor! I think keeping it mostly black * white prevents it from looking like cheesy halloween. You know what I mean?!
I love your decorations! They look amazing! And I'm totally going out and getting some of those Command products! I want to do a floating candle thing, a la Harry Potter, and the ceiling things would be awesome for it. And the balloon bunchers would be great for our next party as a photo backdrop!
That sounds crazy cool!! I can't wait to see that!
did u see the sugar skull wreath at target? I wanted it but it was $20 (which I don't think is bad but I have three front doors so I'm always thinking times 3 will it last but I LLLUURRRVVVEEEE it so I may go back and get just one for the main front door. http://www.target.com/p/halloween-colorful-skulls-and-flowers-wreath/-/A-15528604#prodSlot=medium_1_6&term=halloween+wreath
I may have to make an emergency run to my target they're out online
I love decorating and celebrating dia de Los meurtos – even though I have a Dutch heritage (not Mexican). It is colorful and fun. I love the decorations World Market has this year. Did you know that marigolds are the traditional flower for the holiday? Some marigolds would look fabulous with all of your other bright decorations! š
Best,
Michelle
