Sephora Haul | Best Finds of May

Happy Monday, friends, and welcome back to a new week! We had a pretty low-key weekend… a little organizing and cleaning, a lot of take-out and movies. You know, the usual stay-at-home stuff! I’ve got some big projects around the corner, so the downtime was actually nice!

Today I’m excited to share my latest Sephora Haul! Beauty, hair, and wellness have become popular topics here on Hi Sugarplum in the last year, and I’m thrilled you love chatting it up as much as me. I tend to stay extremely loyal to a product once I’ve fallen in love, but part of my job here is to find and share the latest and greatest… in both style and beauty.

So by popular request, Sephora Hauls have become a monthly series around here (see them all HERE), and I’m back this month with more… here’s the best of my Sephora Haul lately.

Sidenote: I tried these products several times before sharing with you, so these aren’t just first impressions!

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette

My friend and professional makeup artist, Suzie Moldavon, insisted I needed this palette. Tarte is one of her favorite eyeshadow brands, and the Tartelette In Bloom is one of her most-used. It has a range of shades for day and night looks, with a mix of matte and shimmer.

They’re highly-pigmented, buttery soft, and blend easily. I love the compact size, too, especially considering how many colors it provides! Just check out the over 3,000 5-star reviews… many say it’s their ride-or-die eyeshadow palette!

Kosas Tinted Oil Foundation

This was another Suzie Moldavon ‘must-have’! She’s been obsessed with all things Kosas lately, with the Tinted Oil Foundation her favorite of the bunch. And when I saw it was one of Allure’s Best of Beauty Winners last year, I had to try it for myself! Plus, it’s a ‘Clean at Sephora’ product.

It’s a featherweight, light-coverage foundation and hydrating skin elixir in one. It’s packed with jojoba seed oil, avocado oil, and raspberry seed oil, and the 16 shades can be worn by 48 different skin tones. Think of it as a moisturizing dry oil, with the perfect touch of skin-balancing tint.

The breathable, silky-clean formula evens the look of skin tone, minimizes pores, and erases imperfections, while supporting the health of the skin underneath. I apply it with a flat foundation brush, and it absorbs quickly, leaving my skin even and dewy!

Be sure to shake it well to mix the oils and tint before applying, and use over a silicone-free moisturizer or sunscreen. It’s different from any face product I’ve ever tried, so it took a few applications to get used to, but I love the effect and finish!

*There’s a handy shade-finder that’s super helpful, I wear #5.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in ‘Pillow Talk’

Remember the trick Suzie taught us about over-lining just the Cupid’s bow to bring back that youthful, bee-stung lip? (See it HERE.) It’s one of my favorite tips she’s shared (along with brightening the lower waterline with this highlighter), and I do it pretty much every day! I just love the effect.

You can achieve the look with just lipstick, but it’s much easier with a lip liner… plus it stays put longer. I’ve been looking for a great neutral that pairs with all my bright pinks and reds and hit the jackpot with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in ‘Pillow Talk’!

It goes on smooth and creamy, not waxy at all, but has a matte finish which is a perfect primer base for lipstick. It has slight pink undertones to the nude shade, so it matches my lips almost identically so when my lipstick wears off I’m not left with an obvious outline. I’m thrilled to have a single liner for all my lipsticks!

NARS Orgasm X Cheek Palette

Okay, so I’m not necessarily a fan of the name, but I’m a serious fan of this product! I’ve been using NARS blush for years, and love the high pigment formula and natural flush they provide. In fact they’re so pigmented, it only requires a single swipe across the product with a brush, and stays put all day.

The NARS Orgasm X Cheek Palette is a limited-edition palette featuring three universally flattering shades, including their cult-favorites, Orgasm (peachy pink with gold shimmer) and Orgasm X (shimmering deep coral pink with gold pearl). Both of which are so natural and pretty. It also includes Orgasm Highlighting Powder, which adds a golden shimmer and luster to face, eyes, and brow bone.

I love having them packaged in a single, convenient palette, allowing me to easily switch up my blush shade. Plus, each color is full-size, so it’s a great deal!

Drybar High-Tops Self Grip Rollers

My love of velcro rollers goes back decades (geez, that makes me sound ‘mature’!), but it’s only in the last year or so that I’ve brought them back to my regular routine. They smooth the top layer of hair, while providing tons of volume at the crown… and all without additional heat!

Drybar High-Tops Self Grip Rollers roll easily into my hair and stay in place without clips or clamps, then remove gently without pulling or tugging any strands. Immediately after blow-drying, I roll small sections of warm hair up and away from my face, and set the rollers on top. Usually I place just a few at the crown, but I’ll add rollers to the sides, too, for more overall volume.

I’ll let my hair cool and set on the rollers while I finish getting ready, then pull them out at the end. They not only give great volume, but add a nice bend to my ends.

Olaplex Bond Repair Trial Kit

I’ve been singing the praises of Olaplex for several months now, and credit this incredible line to healing and repairing my hair. It started with Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3… my hair stylist insisted it was essential for repairing my fragile, color-treated hair. And I was shocked at the difference after only a few uses.

So I added the Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme, and was instantly smitten with how smooth it left my hair after drying. Not to mention how much faster my hair dried! So it was only natural that my next step would be to include Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo and Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner to my hair routine.

After a couple of months, my hair is smoother, shinier, stronger and overall, looks way less damaged. If you want to try it for yourself, but don’t want to make the investment of full-size just yet… they just introduced the Olaplex Bond Repair Trial Kit! It contains all four of the best-sellers in travel-friendly 1-oz sizes.

Perfect for testing them out, or if you’re already a fan, keeping in your overnight bag so you’re never without. It comes packaged in a cute little box, so it would make a great gift, too.

Okay, that’s it for this month’s Sephora Haul! Are any of these products already on your must-have list? What do you love that I should try next? I’ve been testing the Peace Out Pore Treatment Strips and OLEHENRICKSON Banana Bright Eye Cream from your last suggestions.

Hi Girl! For comparison, what shade do you use in the IT Cosmetic CC Cream? Want to order the Kosas foundation! Trying to pick a shade and I’ve been using Light/Medium with IT.

I’m usually light-medium in It Cosmetics, but now that my body is getting tanner, I switch to medium. Can’t wait to hear what you think about the Kosas!
