Well, the moment I’ve been dreading all year, or for the last 18 years actually, finally came this weekend…our son graduated from high school! A few tears were shed, but mostly I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and excitement for him.
When he casually sauntered down the stairs Saturday morning, dressed in a suit (his choice) with his cap and gown draped over his arm, full of confidence and intention, I knew right then that he was ready. Ready for the next chapter. Ready to spread his wings. Ready to figure out life on his own.
I know the really hard moment still lies ahead…dropping him at college, or rather, driving away. But for now, I choose to savor every moment of this Summer together. He picked Greece as his senior trip/graduation gift, and we’re headed out today! I’ve been planning this trip for months, and couldn’t be more ready for dedicated family time. You know I’ll share it all here eventually, but you can follow our daily adventures on my Instagram Story.
Today I’m excited to share new inspiration from our Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Summer of Color, but first, I can’t even begin to thank you for all the love and support you showed our latest Collection! One of the things I love most about the Summer of Color Collection (besides all the color!), is all the styling options! The colors are consistent across the entire line, creating endless mixing-and-matching opportunities. You can pair pattern on pattern for a chic set, or break them up as separates, and essentially doubling your outfits! Which was super helpful for packing, since I only took a single carry-on for the next 12 days!

I am so glad to hear that someone else dreamed their child’s graduation:) we have an only child who also graduates this year. I think I cried for six months. But I am so excited to see where God leads her! Such an exciting and precious time. Congrats on this amazing new collection. I am loving the tops – one shoulder and tank!

Really do love the embroidery backs in both of these latest collections. Racer backs are also my friend due to my narrow shoulders. No danger of straps falling down or off. I used to embroider quite a bit as a kid so appreciate the detail on that. Of course these are machine embroidered but still . . . This adds a punch and makes the item timeless.
I must be missing something because everything (skirt, dresses, tank) I have looked at on your provided Nordy’s links are “not available”. My loss!
Watching your children grow up and venture out on their own is never easy. I have 5 children and it is still the hardest thing I’ve had to do. It never gets easier, BUT it is so worth that heart break and sick to your stomach sadness when you let go and you see them make great choices and decisions and you see the “fruits of your labor” in raising such confident and amazing children. Knowing you had a part in shaping who they will become as an individual is an amazing feeling. Best wishes to your son and your family.

I meant that the pieces were sold old. I even thought to myself, “Dare I order the smaller size down and try to shed a few pounds”, but the smaller sizes were sold out too.
You and your mom look so pretty in pink (chain)! I love that photo of you two. You are getting more & more buff, and your mom looks like she’s gotten even tinier – so slim and youthful! I ordered the Sardinia shirt in the blue lagoon and it was delivered today. It is simply gorgeous! I ordered a medium and a large to be sure I had the right fit – that’s my dilemma!
The medium is a perfect fit and the large works being slightly big for me. The material is 100% rayon and I worry about shrinkage even with hand washing. Any thoughts on that!
