Sugarplum Casa | The Primary Bathroom

Hello friends, and happy halfway to the weekend! It’s hard to believe, but we’ve been in the new house almost two months already!

We settled in pretty quickly with our existing rugs and furniture, but I wanted to live in the space for a bit before hanging art, or adding any new decor. (See the design direction we’re taking for this house HERE.)

Fortunately, we love all the finishes the builder chose throughout the house, especially the bathrooms, so adding texture and warmth is really all that’s needed. When I discovered the Amber Lewis x Loloi Collection at Wayfair, I knew the style was ideal for this house, and the Billie Oriental Ink/Salmon runner perfect for our Primary Bath!

In fact, I love it so much, I promptly ordered it in a larger size for the foyer! It really is that good! And yay us, because it’s on sale in Wayfair’s huge Way Day sale, happening today and tomorrow only!

This 48-hour event is their absolutely giant sale, with up to 80% off home decor, lighting, appliances, hardware, and more! Every single room in my house has a Wayfair find, from beds and sconces to cabinet hardware and rugs. It’s the first place I go when looking for anything home related!

Oriental Runner (Size: 2’6″x12′) | Similar Tray | Similar Faux Stems | Similar Bathtub Faucet

This new house has the same number of rooms as our previous home, but everything is a little bigger and more spread out. Which is great from a space standpoint, but tricky for making it feel warm and homey.

This Amber Lewis x Loloi rug comes in a slew of sizes, and the extra-long runner is perfect for our vanity space. I love the texture and warmth it adds, not to mention the softness underfoot.

Sugarplum Style Tip: Don’t skip or skimp on the rug pad, it makes a huge difference in the appearance and feel of the rug. I used this one in the bathroom (it comes in extra-long lengths), and this one is incredible for full-sized rugs. It doesn’t bunch or allow the rug to slip at all!!

The next step is adding a shade to this large window! I’ll likely go with a single woven shave for more added texture. It will help to soften the coolness of the marble and tile, plus give us the necessary privacy.

I loved the rug so much, I ordered the exact color way for our foyer, too! The larger size mixes up the pattern from the runner, so it looks similar, but different enough.

The rug is soft and thin, with no shedding… this rug pad gives it a little extra oomph, and prevents it from slipping or bunching at all!

Oriental Area Rug (Size: 6’x9′) | Rug Pad | Similar Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig

I’m so smitten with this rug line, and will likely use other color ways in different rooms. The price can not be beat, especially with Wayfair’s huge Way Day Sale!

All of the fixtures and hardware were selected by the builder, but I put together a pretty similar ‘Get the Look’ using all Wayfair items on sale!

1. Beaded Chandelier //ย 2. Cabinet Knobs
3. Beveled Mirror //ย 4. Brass Wall Sconces
5. Mounted Sink Faucet //ย 6. Bath Towels
7. Freestanding Vanity //ย 8. Soap Dispenser
9. Marble Tray //ย 10. Runner
11. Faux Stems //ย 12. Bathtub Tray
13. Soaking Bathtub // 14. Clawfoot Tub Faucet

Ooooh, Ms. Cassie! This is so thrilling!
Can we pipe in?? Love that old world feel of the sink top and faucets. Nice against the modern feel of the room. Rug is such a good fit w/those.
You may want to consider a window shade that is called “top down, bottom up” I think. Or something like that, ha,ha.That way you have the natural light and sky showing, w/some privacy too. Does this make sense?? I love that option. Off to the Wayfair site I go.
    Ok, I’ll quit now………xo.

Great photos, but what is wrong with calling it the master bathroom?

Love the cabinets pair up with the vertical ship lap. Are the shiplap and adjacent walls paint color the same, or should be slightly different for contrast? I am debating to do this in my breakfast nook next to the kitchen ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ. And, do you think vertical looks modern versus horizontal looks farm house? Sighโ€ฆdecisions are so hard!

Hi Lilly! Our walls and shiplap are the same SW Pure White. As for vertical vs horizontal, I think it’s just a preference…and also space allowance!

I am in the beginning of a bath remodel, Iโ€™m struggling to find floor tile that compliments my Carrara marble countertops. Is your floor tile marble? Porcelain?

I think I speak for a lot of your followers when I say we would be FOREVER GRATEFUL if you’d share that source list whenever you get it! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I mean I cannot stop myself from coming back to pictures of your bathroom. The floors, the vanity, the countertops…it’s all so perfect together.

Hi Bethany! Thank you so much! Since the home builder selected all the finishes and hardware, I don’t have any sort of exact source list. But I hope this “Get the Look” inspiration post makes everything more accessible!! xo, C

Hi! Where did you get your exact vanity? I am desperately trying to find a whitewashed oak like that. I like your suggestion, but don’t love the famhouse sink.. this has been so difficult. Love your style!

Hi Melissa! Our new house as built before we purchased it, so we didn’t choose any of the finishings/hardware. I don’t have an exact link for the vanity, I’m sorry! The pieces listed in the post are inspired by the existing bathroom and are as similar as I could find. xo, C

Is the rug by your Christmas tree the same as the runner? If not, can you provide that link as well?

Yes, it’s the same rug, just different sizes! The one in the foyer is 6โ€™x9โ€ฒ, and the runner in the bathroom is 2โ€™6โ€ณx12โ€ฒ.
