Pretty in Pink for Mother’s Day

Welcome back to a new week, friends! And not just any week…but a special week dedicated to all things Mother’s Day! Little Miss and Mama Sugarplum will both be making appearances all week, sharing fun new Spring styles, an amazing New York weekend,  and great Mom’s Day gift ideas.

Let’s kick it off with a double dose of pink, with Kendra Scott’s new Summer Collection and our newly-restocked Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Resort Collection!

Striped Tunic | Striped Wide-Leg Pants | Wedges | Tassel Bucket Bag | Floral Maxi | Sandals | Woven Tote

I think y’all know by now that Mama SP and I have a close relationship. One that’s equal parts friendship and mother/daughter. I love that we can be together as friends, laughing and having fun…but she’s there when I need her as a mom, too.

She always shoots me straight, but is also fiercely loyal and protective of me. I think one of the biggest keys to our adult relationship is she never gives me unsolicited advice! Which as a mom myself, I know it’s really difficult to stand-by quietly while your kids suffer or stumble. But she allows me the space to navigate it on my own, without judgement.

But if I ask for advice, look out, because she’s got plenty to say! Ha!

We share a love of pink and Kendra Scott, so I asked her to join me in styling pieces from their new Summer Collection. I was promptly drawn to the new Jenni drop earrings in pink…such a fun shape and color, and also lightweight.

And this delicate necklace has been on repeat…I love the little pop of color, plus the stone is visible from both sides, so you don’t have to worry about it flipping over.

Y’all! How gorgeous is she?! Fingers crossed I got these genes!

She looks adorable in the Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Tunic and Wide Leg Pant in the new pink stripe (website calls it red stripe, but it’s definitely pink). Plus, it’s so lightweight and comfortable.

Fit Tip: She’s wearing a regular XS in both pieces. Petite sizing available if you prefer a more cropped fit. (She’s 5’1″.)

We styled the bold stripes with gold accents, and love the geometrical shape of this earring and necklace combo.

We celebrated Mother’s Day early on our weekend trip to New York (recap coming this week!), with a fun shopping trip to Kendra Scott, and she chose a link bracelet, designed with charms that were special to her. We both can’t think of a better Mother’s Day gift than a little Kendra Scott!

I’m always a little extra, so I paired my floral maxi dress with bold pink earrings. This dress is so versatile, I’ve been wearing it for day and night, and it’s perfect for vacations! Plus, it packs so small with no wrinkling!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a reg XS, but petite sizing available, too. Comes in several fun prints and solids!

We love any opportunity to be together, and now that she’s retired, I can’t wait to have her on the blog more often! What kinds of posts would you like to see with Mama Sugarplum? You can see her skincare routine here.

Your mom and you look fabulous. Those vertical stripes and the wedges make you mom look so tall. I loved her handbag, but unfortunately, it is sold out. Happy Mother’s Day to both of you.

Very pretty in pink! You and your mother are beautiful! I have the pink dress you recommended last spring from Nordstrom–but your Gibson x Hi Sugarplum! ensembles modeled here are so attractive, I might need to add to my collection:)

Would love to hear about Mama Sugarplum’s weight loss plan from a while back. You had mentioned that she wanted to lose some weight, and it seemed that poof!, it was done.
    Thanks so much!

I’m wondering what Mama Sugarplum does to fill her time in retirement. Will she start her own blog for women her age? I know she’s very fashion forward but what trends will she not touch? A post on Getting to Know Your Mom would be fun.

Love all this pink! My mom means the WORLD to me and I’d love to get her some beautiful jewelry! I’d enjoy a post from Mama Sugarplum about what she’d tell her younger self… maybe as a 25 year old? So fun!

    Lipstick question for you…
I do love wearing lipstick! But I find that when I wear it and eat something after (as you’re bound to do if you’re a human!), my lipstick gets all over my chin, even if I’m trying to be careful. Suggestions for either helping lipstick to stay or avoid this issue?
