Hello, hello! How was your Spring weekend? We had a fabulous, Griswald-worthy weekend, full of family time, including a successful Pancakes & Pajamas Party for my little girl. I’m excited to share the pictures with you, once I get the chance to upload them!
You know from my Son’s Room and Guest Bathroom, that I’m a sucker for stripes. It’s one of my favorite patterns, full of so much punch. And depending on how they are used, stripes can be preppy, sporty, masculine, or elegant, but always dynamic. Especially in a black and white scheme.

Without the stripes, these spaces would be lovely, but certainly not impactful. Same is true for my outfit:

A non-descript black pencil skirt and gray sweater sounds like a professional’s ‘uniform’, but throw in black and white stripes and the outfit has energy!
My closet is chock-full of too many stripes, but I can never resist the vibrant pattern….in my closet or home. Here’s the birthday girl herself, getting in on the pose action!
This blog has become quite the family effort, as even my son is begrudgingly taking the picture!
What’s your relationship with stripes? Do you love wearing strong patterns, or prefer to keep things subtle?
Oh, and speaking of Black & White, if you follow me on Twitter, then you know Mr. Sugarplum and I played hooky from work Friday. He was sweet enough to swing me through West Elm and ZGallerie, where I scored these greek key salad plates for $5/each! I can’t wait to build a tablescape around them! (Probably not Easter.)
