I had to put my Guest Bath Update post on hold because I’m so excited!!!
I recently became the owner of one of my grandfather’s favorite possessions:

send us a picture of that wall…and the rest of the room…and I’ll tell you what I think!
Okay!! I may have sent her a few more pictures than she was expecting…and I’m sure she’s already regretting her offer, considering my stalker tendencies when it comes to her…but none-the-less…I wait for her response with massive anticipation! And being a chronic purger, I have no problems letting the ship go if it just doesn’t work, or enhance, my house. I’ve got Poppoo in my heart, I don’t need something in my living room to be reminded of him.
Do you have any ideas regarding the ship? Do you hang on to things that don’t work simply because they have sentiment or you’ll feel guilty for letting them go?
Hello love. I'd say wait to hear back from your good friend, Erinn, see what she has to say and try to make it work… It may take awhile, but don't get rid of it. I held on to a few of my dad's favorite things and it took me FOREVER to figure out a neat way to display. After about 3 years (kept them safe in Brian's office), we finally did a wall with his cowboy hat, sunglasses, boots, etc. Very cute. SO glad I didn't get rid of it all… Just my suggestion. 🙂 Hope you are doing great. Miss u.
Thanks Shel!! I'll definately go with your advice. However, half my house is now 'inherited' items…so I've got all kinds of sentiment running around. 😉
Miss you too!

Pool.
I love it on top of the armoire. Looks like you have enough ceiling height to pull it off. It is a great piece and it really goes well with your nautical room.

I quite like it on the mantle! What a cool piece to inherit. I can't wait to see where it ends up. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
I like the ship on the mantle, although I have a friend who has ship modeling as a hobby and he just hangs his works on the wall – they look great there too! hope your weekend is great!
Hi Cassie,
I’ve been following you for a few years but haven’t ever read your early stuff. It’s so great to see how far your blogging has come in the last 8.5 years.
I am curious though, what ever came of this ship? I have a slightly smaller one in storage but am moving into a brand.new.home (!!!) in January and would love to incorporate it somewhere. There sideboard in the dining room or in the entry seem like the obvious places.
Thanks for all your inspiration.

Oh my gosh…you’re going way back!! We’re in different house now, and fortunately the perfect spot presented itself for the ship and we were able to keep it!! It sits atop the piano in the Dining Room. You can see it here: https://hisugarplum.com/one-room-challenge-dining-room-reveal/
