McDreamy McMansion

Life is good for Jillian Dempsey.  Not only is she a talented makeup-artist, jewelry designer, and artist…but she wakes up to Patrick’s McDreamy face everyday. In a 5,000-square foot Frank Gehry home, sitting on five acres in Malibu. The entire property is shaded by olive trees. Let’s not forget the olive trees.

That’s a relatively modest-sized home by Hollywood standards, but the outdoors is a family fun-zone with large flat lawn for soccer games, alfresco kitchen with pizza oven, and coops, hutches and other enclosures for their menagerie of chickens, miniature donkeys, rabbits, goats, and pigs. Oh, and three dogs.

I love all the natural tones and clean simplicity of it…I think I’d do just fine living in this McDreamy space.

Did you spy the chalkboard wall calendar? So funny to think celebrities find design ideas on blogs and Pinterest just like the rest of us! What’s your favorite thing about their home? Do you remember when McDreamy was Ronald Miller?

  1. Do I have to pick just one favorite thing?! I love that it looks like you can be comfortable there and you don't have to work about breaking anything! What a freaking gorgeous house!

  4. Cant Buy Me Love! OMG NO ONE EVER REMEMERS HIM in that movie. It was a classic. I showed my 18 year old son who is good looking but not as tall as he'd like how Patrick Dempsey transgormed himself from a gawky teen to a hunk.

  5. Ah, yes….Ronald Miller. One of those movies that I turn on every time I see it. Great post! That wall full of firewood stole my heart!

  7. Am I the only one who noticed that McDreamy might be a little McFreaky with that swing in their bedroom? 😉 I know it's not "one of those types" of swings, but I couldn't help myself.

  11. Ah, Ronald Miller. THAT takes me back. An Airstream would pretty much be my husband's dream date – he has a weird thing for mobile homes… I'm a little scared of the retirement years.

  12. Love the airstream trailer, used for date nights! Too cute. And one of the things I like least about living in Tahoe is that we can't have a year-round outdoor area available. I LOVE their outdoor space!

  13. I drooled over every image in that issue. I LOVE his home. Kinda makes me want to paint every wall in my house white. And yes, I heart the chalkboard wall calendar a lot. 😉

  14. Love it – I would live in the outdoor space just by itself! I also want to say that he is one of the hottest men in Hollywood – and he seems like such a nice guy in interviews. So down to earth and SO CUTE!!!

  17. Love the Airstream! Definitely seems like a nod to his early days on Greys 😉

But seriously, the whole house is absolutely gorgeous!

  19. Of course McDreamy has an airstream trailer in real life. I mean, that's just perfect, haha.
