Happy Friday, friends, and cheers to the weekend! Sloan and I are celebrating her 17th birthday with a weekend trip to Kansas City for a volleyball tournament! I’ve got a team dinner planned at Chicken N Pickle tomorrow night, but the rest of the time we’ll be camped out at the Convention Center. If you have other recommendations, I’d love to hear them!
Crazy to think, but April starts tomorrow, which means the kids have just 8 weeks of school left! Our son will actually be done in 6 weeks… how did that happen so fast?! We only get him for a couple weeks before he moves to Kansas for an internship this summer, so lots of change around here.
Today I’ve got a hodgepodge of new finds and latest happenings to share, so let’s get to this month’s This & That…
FlyBrow Fun //
Y’all… my dearest, most talented friend, Suzie, (the genius behind FlyBrow, not to mention, who also transforms me for every Gibsonlook x Hi Sugarplum Collection!) has launched her very first product, and I could not be more proud or excited for her!! The best at-home lamination kit is HERE, and I’m obsessed!!
In three easy steps, my brows went from puny to WOW… and I did it all myself at home! Each kit comes with detailed step-by-step instructions anyone can follow, and enough product for three laminations!! She poured her heart and soul, not to mention, years of eyebrow expertise, into making this product, and I am beyond thrilled (for her and my eyebrows!).
And to celebrate and thank y’all for the love over the years, she’s given us an exclusive code for 10% off… SUGARPLUM10!
FlyBrow Lamination Kit (code SUGARPLUM10 for 10% off!) | Half-Zip Sweatshirt (XS) | Huggie Earrings
Decked Out & In Stock! //
Did you see?! Our best-selling GLxHSP Decked Out Day Dress is back in stock! The white sold out in a day, so I was thrilled we are able to bring it back! And we even added a solid black, too! It’s the cutest, flirtiest little number you’ll wear on repeat! Use code SUGARPLUM10 to save 10%!

S-E-C You Soon, College //
Little Miss and I spent her Spring Break road-tripping through the SEC, and we had the best time! We toured Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Tennessee… plus checked out Furman, Belmont, and Vanderbilt!! She definitely has a few favorites… and I just spent the week beaming with pride and gratitude.
How is this sweet girl already 17 and a year-and-a-half away from college?!
We stumbled on the absolute cutest hotel on our road trip… The Graduate! Turns out, they have them all across the country near college campuses, and each is personalized to fit the school! So much style and attention to detail!
Morning Routine Must-Have //
This new tinted eye cream from Colleen Rothschild has become a must-have part of my morning routine, and the results are astonishing! It’s a daytime eye cream that’s packed with hyaluronic acid to hydrate and smooth wrinkles, caffeine to de-puff, and pearlized pigments to create instant brightness!! It’s truly a miracle in a bottle… and SUGARPLUM20 will save you 20%!
Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream (code SUGARPLUM20)
Let There Be Color //
Can you believe we’ve been in this new house for 8 months already?! I certainly can’t! Now that we’ve settled in and lived in the spaces for awhile, I’m ready to crank up the decorating… and the rug of my color-loving dreams arrived last week!
I had a very specific design and style in mind for this room, and was thrilled when I discovered this Etsy shop that creates custom rugs! I sent them some photos and instructions, and a few days later they sent over a rendering and quote… and WHA-BAM… gorgeous rug!!
Striped Rug | Dining Room Table | Chairs | Chandelier | Wooden Bowl | Faux Moss Balls | Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig
And what’s even cooler, is it helped support these incredibly talented artisans in a tiny rural town in India! I got the absolute sweetest note from them, and it feels so special to know that our rug was not only made with so much love and attention to detail, but it helped to support a community. Definitely check out their entire shop for a big dose of gorgeous color!
Faherty Finds //
Cutest new arrivals from Faherty! The absolute softest organic cottons, and all sustainably made, I just adore this company. Here are a few of my fave picks from their new arrivals, and my code SUGARPLUM20 saves you 20% off site-wide! Expect to see this gauze set on repeat!

Merit Crushing //
I discovered this clean beauty brand last year, and the blush balm instantly shot to the top of my Sugarplum Favorite Things list! It is the absolute prettiest glowy-flush, and goes on so smooth with no tugging or smearing makeup. In fact, I’m so obsessed that I drag all my friends to my bathroom when they come over just so they can try it!

Happy Spring Tops //
Dallas has literally flip-flopped between 80 degrees and freezing temps for the last month … what’s a girl to wear?! All I know is I’m ready to pack up my sweaters and start wearing some darling spring tops … and there’s no shortage of great finds this season.
Pair them with your favorite light or white denim, and sneakers, flats, or sandals, and you’ve got yourself a perfect spring uniform. I shared 10 of my favorite spring tops HERE.
Spring Tops | Rainbow Straw Hat | Leather Woven Tote Bag
Look For Less //
I added another of my favorite faux-fiddle trees to the house (this time in the beastly 8-foot height since we have such high ceilings)… and she makes this such a happy corner! When it came time to finding a planter, I didn’t want to spend a fortune, but wanted to find something worthy of her splendor… and hit the jackpot with this one!
It looks just like heavy cement or ceramic, but it’s actually lightweight plastic! And under $30! Yes ma’am… you’re going to want to run for this find!
Planter | Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig
Monday Mail Day //
When I polled you guys last month or so ago to see what you wanted to see more of this year… Monday Mail Day was definitely a repeating request! I’m thrilled you like my random, QVC-style finds I share each week! Here’s a peek of what arrived the last few weeks… but if you only buy one thing, let it be these No-Show Socks! Okay, and this Makeup Brush Cleaner is pure magic, as are these No Hangover Vitamins!

Keep Calm & Carry-On //
You know I’m a member of the ‘Carry-On Fan Club’, and I’m often asked how I actually pack everything in the bag, so I created a little video HERE, You can find all my travel must-haves HERE.
Rolling Suitcase | Carry-On Duffle Bag | Clear Zipper Pouches | Packing Cubes
A Hat Trick //
Speaking of packing, hat clips are key to saving bag space and also going hands-free while you travel. I was determined to find an affordable option that’s as strong and reliable as the pricier versions… so I ordered FIFTEEN different hat clips and ran them all through a very unofficial and rigorous test… and found three very clear winners!
This one has a super powerful magnet with a keyring-style attachment, this powerful clip is perfect for bags without a loop or for carrying two hats, and this 3-pack is super strong at an unbelievable price!
Carry-On Duffle Bag | Straw Hat | Magnetic Keyring Holder | Duo-Clip Holder | Keyring Clip
Wowza, Walmart! //
Um… cuteness check on aisle 13! Walmart has been slaying the fashion game lately, but these pieces even turn it up a notch! It’s all under $50, and I’m a size XS in all pieces.
Top Row, Left to Right: Striped Shirtdress | Floral Dress | Trench Coat | Smocked Midi Dress
Bottom Row, Left to Right: Pleated Top & Skirt | Ruffle Tee | Gingham Crop Top & Skirt | Satin Slip Dress
How’s that for a random round-up? But that’s the This & That of life around here lately! Happy Friday, lovebugs… and Happy Happy Birthday to our darling Sloan! You are loved to the moon and back!!

Hi Cassie! I’m so happy to see you are in my native KC – and happy birthday to Sloane!!! Please make sure to go to the Plaza – modeled after KC’s sister city Seville, Spain. It is beautiful and you both will enjoy all the shopping (check out local fav Charlie Hustle). Gram & Dun is a great restaurant with a wonderful patio if the weather is nice.
Another fun experience is Crown Center, and Fritz’s is super fun – food is delivered by a train that runs along the ceiling.
Enjoy! (and no need to post this publicly;)
Lorabelle
Amazing tips, thank you!!
Happy bday weekend to your daughter!
I’m obsessed with that travel duffel but have to ask … does it fit under the seat in front of you or is it overhead bin only? I can *almost* carry on for a week-long trip and that duffel might be the missing link that makes it happen.
Oh it fits under the seat!!! Or else I wouldn’t be able to carry on a suitcase and that duffle!! xo, C
Thanks! I’m on the tall-ish side so always use that space to stretch out, but it would be so nice to not have to check a bag, especially on shorter trips.
Ugh yes, I know it’s a balance between in-flight comfort and ease of airport logistics, right?! xo, C
If you can get down to the Plaza, there is amazing shopping! Hope you enjoy KC!
Thank you Arika, I hope so too!!! xo, C
There is a show on Magnolia Network about the Graduate hotels! It’s so neat to see all the thought that goes into the details.
Oh so cool!!! That hotel was seriously so cute! xo, C
Chicken N Pickle is soo fun! We went there in KC last summer when there for work. Enjoy!!
Thank you so much, Kate! We are looking forward to it! xo, C
Kansas City is a great city! If you get time, go to Country Club Plaza to shop, walk and eat – it’s not too far from the convention center. The Nelson art museum is close by too. Just a few blocks from the Plaza is Andre’s – an adorable and delicious Swiss restaurant and chocolate/pastry shop. Aixois in Brookside is a really cute French Bistro and there are some fun shops in that neighborhood too. Also, if you get the chance to drive 30 minutes to see Lawrence, Kansas, home of the University of Kansas, you should! It’s a beautiful campus and great college town. Enjoy!
Thank you for all of these great tips!!!! xo, C
Good luck with the college visits! If you’re still looking at SEC schools, check out Mizzou! Lots of Texans too. My oldest did a summer internship in Wichita, KS a few summers ago and enjoyed it a lot more than expected. Good luck!
Thanks so much!!
Welcome to KC!
I graduated from Auburn & met my absolute best friends there! I know you guys must’ve had a great time road tripping through the South! Best of luck as Sloan chooses her school!
Hi Cassie,
Would love more info on how you saw so many schools in that short time. My daughter’s list is similar & we are trying to figure out how to see them all. We live in South Louisiana so I would think we could do something similar to see them. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Good luck 🏐 in KC this weekend! We are heading to Dallas next weekend!
Thanks,
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer…we basically saw 1 school per day. We flew in to Birmingham and drove to Alabama Day 1, spent the night there and the morning of Day 2, we drove to Auburn. Toured the school and spent the night. So it was a lot of driving and moving, but so much fun! I hope that helps!
Hi Cassie,
Was thrilled to see “Little Miss” in front of Samford Hall at our beloved Auburn! My husband graduated from Auburn and while I’m an Alabama alum (I know!!), both of our kids attend Auburn and absolutely love it:)
Wherever your baby lands will be wonderful, so try not to stress too much about it and enjoy this time.
On another note, thanks for all the great posts and suggestions…I’ve decorated my home, and myself, ha! with your recommendations.
Thank you so much, Roslyn! Auburn was beautiful, and so was Alabama!! xo, C
Just over here eagerly awaiting her final decision. Ha! I’m a Bama grad (and sorority girl) and my husband’s an Auburn grad. We disagree on football teams (deeeeep rivalry) but we agree we love SEC schools! It’s fun and bittersweet to think of our own kids making these choices. Sigh.
Bittersweet is such a good word to describe the feeling, Beth!! You hit the nail on the head. xo, C
Best of luck to your daughter on her decision. So many good choices! I graduated from Vanderbilt and loved it!! Lots of Texans were there when I attended. Our oldest visited Auburn and Clemson so those hold a special place in our heart. He ended up at Georgia Tech (GA has a program where tuition is free at state public schools for residents if you have a certain GPA). Toured schools last year with our youngest so I am fresh off the fun! She will attend Georgia College and State University in the fall
Mr. SP and I lived in Nashville for years, we love it there!!! Congrats to your precious daughter! xo, C
