Hi Sugarplum!

Is it Me, or is it Hot in Here?! (& Win $100!)

October 1, 2013

I don’t know if it’s my ‘mature’ age, but I feel like I’m always asking the people in my office, the passengers in the car, and my family at home….‘Is it me, or is it hot in here?!’
I don’t think I’ve entered the hot-flash phase of life yet!!

In order to keep my not-hot-flashes at bay, we set our thermostat pretty low at home. Texas Summers can be pretty brutal, but the electric bills are even worse! So we’re forced to turn the air conditioning up before we leave each day, and come home to a warm, stuffy house. Ick.

If only someone would invent a thermostat you could control from your phone or computer, so you could adjust the temperature before you get home. Wouldn’t it be so cool if it were voice-activated, too, and you could just tell the thermostat that you wanted it warmer or cooler? Without even having to get off the couch!?

Well guess what? Someone did invent the smartest, coolest (#punny) thermostat ever…Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat with Voice Control!
     photo HONEYWELL_STRAIGHT_FINAL_zps1dc03c54.jpg

This new gadget is on its way to me, and we are geeking out with excitement. It looks really fancy with a customizable touch screen, but they swear it’s super easy to install.
Fingers crossed!

I can’t wait for cold Winter mornings when I wake up and tell it to warm the house…while I’m still snuggled under the covers! Or when we take vacations, we can use our phones to adjust the temperature to how we like it before we arrive home.
See, totally geeking out.
Wonder if I can tell it to make dinner?
Or walk the dog on rainy days for us?
Oh, or how about choose the winning lottery ticket!?

    {GIVEAWAY}

Want to win $100 Amazon gift card?! (Duh.)
Then tell me in the comments what you’d have your
Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat with Voice Control do for you!

I'd like it to have the house the perfect (cool) temp when we all get up in the morning. In an 'only if' kind of way, I'd like it to open and close all the blinds in the house for me so I didn't have to do that job every single morning and evening. #firstworldproblems.

This would be a most convenient gadget to regulate the air during our hot Vegas summers that seems to be never-ending! I believe this to be especially convenient to me as I am very short and as always, when the thermometer was installed in the wall it was made for a man's size and I can not see the top to gauge the temperature. So I am constantly fighting with the temperatures being too cold or too hot. A voice controlled thermometer would be the icing in the cake! Thanks for the opportunity to win, Cassie!

Emptying the dishwasher would be helpful. Would help with energy efficiency

Our AC guy was just telling us how amazing these are. I would tell mine to warm up before I get out of bed or when I get out of the shower.

Definitely, definitely would use to warm up the house in the morning! Nothing worse than getting out of bed and hopping into the shower when you are already cold!

I live in Michigan, and waking up for work in the winter is TERRIBLE! So hard to step out from the warm covers, sprint across the cold floor and throw on as many layers as you can get your hands out.
It would be nice if it was warming up before we got up so that we could skip the "waddling marshmallow" step of the morning routine.

I would definitely use it to warm up the house before we get home from work–it's awful getting out of a nicely heated car and into a freezing house!

I would have it set on a schedule, our current one isn't programmable, and we have to run downstairs in the mornings to turn it warmer so we aren't freezing or burning up

I'm always forgetting to adjust my t-stat when I leave for the day…this would make it so easy! 🙂

I would use it to program my thermostat for when I leave for the day, and for when I get back home.

I'd have it watch my 14 month old son while I take a nap!

Just like everyone else, I'd use it to warm up before I got out of bed, or cool off the house before I got home. It would be great!!
