Hi Sugarplum!

{Halloween} Front Porch

October 21, 2011

We’ve added touches of Halloween inside (the Mantel and Mummy Lights), but the front porch is what matters most, since it’s where the hoards descend in search of candy! My little good witch invites you to take a tour….

The pumpkin lights around the door were added by Mr. Sugarplum after the fact. I guess since he lives here too, he gets to have the occasional input.

My kids were annoyed thrilled when I announced we were walking down to the nearby creek, in search of sticks. We drug these home, gave them a light coat of black spray paint, and then adorned them with webbing and black crows from the Dollar Store.

Crows are also perched atop lanterns filled with straw, acorns and mini-pumpkins. The Spider Yarn Wreaths hang from Command hooks on the doors.

I loved the votives wrapped with ribbon so much, I added a strip to one of the pumpkins.

A few of the Tricked Out Pumpkins sit atop candle pillars borrowed from inside. And because I can’t get enough of the googly eyes, I added them to the plastic Dollar Store skeleton heads. (Remember, we’re going for deserted/creepy, not scary/gory!)

I stretched the webbing to cover the entire left side of the porch, and added some spider rings. It poured rain the night before I snapped these pics, but I think the debris just helps it to look more realistic.

Now let’s have some fun with photo editing and see how it will look to the Trick Or Treaters!

We are ready…bring on the goblins, Power Rangers and princesses! And like the mantel, this porch will easily transform to Fall by removing just a few things. And just so know, I’m not quite done with the googly eyes yet. Happy Weekend, my dears!

looks great! I'm painting some branches black today to park my crows in, as well. I love that you took pics from the kids eye view, it really shows how much spookier it is for them!

Wow- you've put so much work into this and it looks great. We've got way too much to do in our rehab house to even think of fun, occasional decor for the outside. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you for a bit!
