Gift Guide for Active Lovers

Happy hump day, friends! How’s everyone feeling today? I’ve definitely run through all the emotions in the last 24 hours… heck, the last couple of weeks!

I learned early on in the pandemic that getting outside is the best thing for my mental health and mood, so the long walks are back! Some days require multiple walks, ha! The weather has been gorgeous the last few days, so I’m soaking up every second while I can.

Today I’m sharing some of my staple pieces for getting active, and all of them make great gifts as well!

Ruched Jacket | Pink Tank | Longline Leggings | Backpack | Hat

I picked up this ruched jacket earlier this year, and reach for it anytime I need a light layer for walks and after workouts. It’s super soft and stretchy, and the fit is perfect for transitional weather.

It’s got a mock collar, pockets, and even thumbholes!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a small.

You’ve heard me sing the praises of this backpack for years… it’s all we carry for travel, hiking, and even quick overnights. Even the kids have one now, and it’s their backpack of choice for school. It has tons of great compartments, including a place for laptops and water bottles, and is a lightweight, comfortable fit.

The price point is spot-on, and any active-lover would appreciate it as a gift.

Longline Leggings | Backpack | Water Bottle | Sneakers

Now that the weather is cooling off, I’ll start reaching for longer, thicker leggings, and Zella makes some of the best. They range from high compression to just a little support, depending on your preference.

Sugarplum Style Tip: I’m only 5’4″, so I just roll too-long leggings under to show a little ankle.

It doesn’t get any more classic than an Adidas hat, and I wear this one more than any other. The shape is great, and the streamline design pairs well with just about everything. It also comes in black, and would be a cute stocking stuffer idea for men and teens.

Not gonna lie, I was a little confused by the title. I thought hmmmm what is Miss Cassie recommending to us here. The ‘active lover’ in my house is certainly not interested in hydroflasks and sneakers. LOLOL I had a little chuckle on what is probably going to be a stressful day. Thank you

Based on your title I thought your blog was taking a serious turn. I thought an article for “active lovers” was going to be about um…intimate toys. Mama Sugar Plum would definitely not approve.

For the record, it never occurred to me that you meant the other kind of active lovers…maybe I’m too literal, but it cracked me up when you mentioned it on FB. Too funny!! Love your posts, and this one gave us all a much-needed giggle. 🙂

I think I’ve seen you show some Athleta outfits before. They have some super cute longer tunics (“dresses”) right now that you might like for this time of year and outdoors. I’m thinking the cozy karma asym would look great on you.
